Stalking in Low Sec

Most of the Low Sec systems I explore in have an average of zero to one player when I'm logged in. I like the area for that reason and the fact that I can jump to 10 or so systems in a loop centered around the Low Sec station I am based in.

A couple of nights ago, I was running some Data and Relic sites in my Magnate. I jump into this one system and see on my D-scanner a Stealth Bomber and one player in Local. The player almost immediately jumped out of the system.

I set up and start scanning down sites. A few minutes later the same player enters the system, but I don't see him on my D-scanner. The player has a slightly negative security standing (-0.5 or so) and I presume he was patrolling some of the systems looking for some action, which I had no intention of giving him.

Anyways, I finished scanning all of the sites (a few minutes later) and none of the signatures were Data or Relic sites so I warp to the gate and right as I am about to jump he writes in Local "F* you!"

Well I'm sorry I couldn't accommodate you by letting you scan me down and pod my a* back to Amarr...

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

Your post reminds us of "the golden sands" of our early Eve experiences. Big smile

Thieving pirates discuss INTEGRITY; Anarchist gankers give us LAWS; and Whoring merc's cry then blow off clients with INSULTS.

Please let this post stand as a model for what all of those folks who conduct PVE anywhere should be looking out for. Especially when in HiSec as there are far more threats amd harder to identify.

Pilot looks at local and identified threats.
Pilot made good use of D-scan to further refine the threat profile.
Pilot assesed risk and conducted their business without loitering.
Finally Pilot posted to C&P without demanding nerfs from CCP.

Sounds like you made a friend, OP.

Now fit up that Magnate for combat, and go pop that stealth bomber.

Then lecture him on why stealth bombers suck at solo pvp in lowsec.

After reading y'all's posts, I am now ashamed that I didn't allow this "stalker" to scan me down and destroy my Magnate. To make up for it, I will fit a Paladin with the most expensive Faction and Officer equip I can find and park it in the open in Low Sec to make up for my obvious failing to consider another's feelings.

I will make this 2 or 3B sacrifice in hopes that I can rectify the situation...

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

Go buy a stealth bomber and use it to shoot a moving frigate...

You could have probably killed him with a civilian shield booster and a single missile launcher if you kept your speed up. Torpedoes, especially at stealth bomber dps, are ineffective against frigates.

If you ever get a chance to fight one again in a frigate, take it. As long as you keep your speed up you will win.

We're lampooning you because you ran away from some rookie who didn't know any better in a ship that would have lost.

I'd bet 10 isk the stealth bomber was mix fit for mining/attack.

Oh I know. I was just being an a* with my earlier post. I'm not butt hurt or anything and I am a coward when it comes to PVP. That's right I said it and I know it!

I do find it funny that people get so mad in this game, that's right its a game, when stuff doesn't go exactly their way.

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

If you want, let me give you a few pointers:

1) Google "welcome to pvp, v2". It is a tutorial I wrote a while back. If you understand the stuff in it you will know when you can win and when you can't much more accurately.
2) add me. Once you have read the tutorial, I'd be happy to meet up and demonstrate/ teach a few tricks.

There are a lot of people teaching how to avoid pvp. I think that is what drives people out of the game: gag orders, don't talk in local, don't lose ships, etc...

Ships are ammo. They are meant to be lost.

If you try it and learn a bit you may find out it's fun. We all started out with pve.

Very interesting thanks!

Also, I completely agree that ships are ammo. That's why I fly around in Low Sec with my T1 frigate with all T1 equip...haha

In regards to PVP, I am not really interested in that atm. My main has been around since 2009 and I just did not do this game the right way until recently, actually. I foolishly fell into the trap of "bigger is better" (with ships) and all the isk is in null. The only way to play is in a player corp, etc., etc. I've made lots and lots of mistakes.

For now, I want to take my time really learning how to run missions, explore Low Sec and so forth.

It sounds plausible enough tonight, but wait until tomorrow. Wait for the common sense of the morning.

This man is a new kind of griefer.

I never did understand Low Sector pirates. I mean you kill ships in Low Sector and have your security status reduced yet you cannot go into High Sector. Why not save the grief and gank in Null and never have to worry about security status? There is just something missing in that logic center I think.

Maybe a new clone would help.
