So here is what I found. Going through drivers, from oldest to latest, I found that literally the oldest driver actually works. But, and this is huge hairy butt, it runs like absolute garbage. I mean I might as well be back to the newer version where at least the graphics look like something from this era and not the original duke nukem.

To get to that version is just idiotic also, and so is their versioning system. You get to the download center, go through the menus and if you are on windows 7 64-bit, there are 9 total drivers. The one you want is this.

Quote:
Installs graphics driver version 15.16.5.64.2021 (8.15.10.2021) for IntelĀ® integrated graphics.

The official version, listed in the version column is the first one, the 15.16.5.64.2021, and when you click on it you have two more options; you can get the one from 2009, or the one from 2010. The one from 2009 is the only one that works, every other driver does not work. Here's the most fabulously screwed up part, the update to it, from 2010, runs the graphics beautifully with everything turned on and turned to high, or everything turned off and turned to low, doesn't matter, runs beautiful, and smooth either way for me, but... you can't undock or jump systems without the damned screen blanking.

So if you have a high-end system and are used to high-end graphics, run from EVE as fast as you can, you will never get EVE playing functionally again at this rate. If you on the other hand have a crappy system anyway with a 1.33 ghz i5 with two cores, and only 2 gigs of ram, you won't notice a difference. It'll play choppy as all hell, and look blocky and blobby, like I'm sure you're already used to anyway.

So... CCP, ball is in your court.

I will try my gf's laptop as well, which is same comp dell n5010, but the processor is an i5 at 4 cores with 2.66 ghz instead of 2.8, and only 8 gigs of ram, instead of 16, but I don't expect there to be a difference. If I don't post a reply stating so, then there was no difference.

EDIT: UPDATE: No difference on the other laptop. Also, I can't overstate how bad the graphics are in the 2009 version of the driver. It makes me want to rip out my skeleton; throw it through my window and go running down the street with my bones clacking like mad. It is just terrible.

All graphics on High:
35-45 FPS from planet to planet, but I did have a rather low fps outside an Amarr station in Pelkia: around 12-18 fps, However inside the station was 30-34FPS. Ill test in an Incursion later today.

What did you out your 3d settings to? If you turned on AA, like the post said, turn it off and it'll run fine. Just set it to use application settings.

So since this is apparently out of CCP's hands, I say we petition intel about the issue. If someone could write up a good email for us all to send that'd be a good starting point. I'm sure enough angry customers would get the point across.

Jimi, I tried the settings that were suggested when I installed that 2009 driver that got rid of the problem. When I got in game, noticed the horrible choppiness, I quit game, changed settings to the default which was mostly set to application settings, and and also tried several configurations, it really didn't make a difference. I also tried a restart in between different settings, no difference. Just so horribly choppy, while docked in ship hanger, and when undocked.

I agree, petition Intel as well. If someone thinks they can write a good letter, post it in the forums and we'll all send it in, signed by ourselves. But, don't let CCP forget about this issue. Somehow I can play MW3 perfectly fine, but not EVE. I can't play EVE perfectly fine as well, so long as I don't dock/undock or change systems....

Well I've tried all of the work arounds listed here in the forums and they don't work for me...

IMO; I don't think it's an Intel issue... It's a CCP issue...

If I join a game and it works fine, and the developers issue an upgrade, and then it doesn't work any longer... it's not the hardware's fault... It's the game designers...

CCP has done this before... I like EVE... I played it before for almost 3 years... Got bored went to some other games... Decided to come back and see what had changed...

It's a good game, with lots of good players... But at this point I will not be renewing my subscription...

Still having problems myself. It'd be nice to get an update on the situation.

I don't know much about coding, but is it a possibility for them to take the 'bug' that crashed nVidia and ATI users and tweak it so it plays nice with nVidia, ATI, and Intel?

Well here's the thing about CCP, if they don't think the amount of subscribers affected by the issue pays for the work to put into fixing it, it's not going to get fixed.

In other words, the amount of people having this problem isn't enough for CCP to care. Our few subscriptions aren't worth enough for them to work toward keeping so they're not going to, it's that simple. Intel is our only option so we might as well try. CCP has already stated they aren't, and they don't plan to ever fix it.(Just more of CCPs F the customers policy for you.)

That would happen, I'm considering following suit with cancelling my subscription as well. If that is how they are gonna be, while it is financially smart, is not human. I am not bad mouthing anyone on this part, but this issue came from something rather small. Being in college and all, I want to make my money go as far as it can go, and subscribing to a different game, or reactivating my xbox live and playing modern warfare 3, there are other games, I just want to say it's a shame, because after all, I really liked this game =/ It seems like the posts from the devs have stopped and they have removed themselves from the issue best they can.

You know you can play Eve-Online for free right? buy an ingame Plex. it takes about 5-10 hrs of play to get a month free doing incursions.

That's not the point. Ccp gets paid either way and they should do more to support the customers who are supporting them. Whether you pay with money, or with plex they get paid and in my opinion you should be getting what you pay for, not just what ccp feels you're worth. Its more about principle than anything. It doesn't matter if its "free" or not because in the end they get paid. In fact they actually get more for that "free" subscription and its pretty sad for a company that you're paying to say "hey, your custom isn't worth our time" that's just pure immaturity and shouldn't even be heard of from a company with a project as big as eve. They keep up that attitude and soon it wont be just intel users leaving.

Don't wait til its too late to grow up ccp.

Another user with the Intel Chip. Dual client crashes constantly now, unless I keep both characters sitting in station.

This is awful.

Not only does it work, I've undocked like 100 times just to celebrate, and not 1 issue... very fast undock times too.

Confirmed.. it works perfectly for me too (laptop) Big smile

Workaround didn't work for me. Opened up dual client, undocked from Amarr hub, game crashed about 3 seconds later.

Unless I keep all characters in stations, I'm limited to single client play.

Try to play a bit with the Intel Graphics settings, it didn't work for me the first time (i just installed the driver), but then i changed the options as it is written in the linked thread and all went very well (with dual client too)

Just systematically went through all the drivers Intel has to offer for my chipset's graphics; the 2009 oldest version 'fixes the issue' but my frame rate drops to roughly 2 fps on a machine with a 2.8ghz i5 and 16 gigs ram, all other drivers have screen blanking issue.

Again, using the oldest driver, turned my graphics in EVE all the way down or off where applicable. Then tried a myriad of combinations with system graphics settings. Frame rate stays about a constant 2 frame per second. That includes the opening scene of two interceptors flying past an outpost.

All other drivers allow me to turn graphics in EVE high/on where applicable, and looks beautiful with near 40fps, but, of course, there is still the issue of the bug with undocking and changing systems. I can mission a little in high sec, but anything outside of high sec, and I'm screwed. Lost a manticore to a gate rat trying to go into null sec on the laptop as a result of the bug. Luckily, I have a desktop with no problems, other than I have to turn a couple of things, that I can go to for null sec flying.
