I also can say this patch did NOT work for me, i have tested it in all the following ways

-lowered the graphics to the lowest, still does it
-changed all the setting sync and asymmetric settings - still crashes
undocking / system gates / and client load.

Sad to say, i agree that we should get some compinsation because it really is kinda unplayable when you cant even go from system to system without crashing and that 5 seconds to 30 seconds is really what makes or breaks your escape from the gate.

Well, yeah patch 1.03 didn't fix the issue, but since it seems the majority of us tried it early on Sisi I wasn't really expecting it to either. My next idea is to see if I can download Crucible at version 1.0.0 to at least see if it still doesn't get screen flicker at the login screen and I can run log server and submit that so perhaps there is at least some data from before things got messed up so there is a direct comparison.

QUICK UPDATE: So yeah... having difficulty finding a place I can download a version of Eve between Crucible 1.0.0 and 1.0.2... so if anyone has any (legit) places I could grab it, let me know...

I'm also having massive troubles with my Macbook Pro setup with the Core i5 Intel HD graphics card.

Not only did the crucible patch make the game almost unplayable (from a point of almost 30-40fps no sweat) -- but there are some nasty artifacting and other glitches that make it impossible to play. There is also this weird black rotating artifact when warping.. Here are some screenshots to show the problem:

Screenshot 1
Screenshot 2
Screenshot 3

It's frusterating, because CCP promised to start doing things right for this game, but there seems to be a section that goes backwards. Like I said, before Crucible, I was able to play on my MBP at 30-40fps EASILY... now I'm lucky to get 20fps with the camera pointing to blank space :(

CCP really needs to address this.

Hmm, that seems to be a combination of a mac problem and an Intel problem. Also, are you getting the issue where you jump and the screen flickers black and returns about 2 seconds after the screen has loaded after you jump? That's the primary issue here

I do experience that problem as well...

As for my original issue, should I post a new thread? It seems as if the performance problem is around the board as far as Intel GMA video setups are concerned...

Does anyone know if I just download the Eve Online Installer what version it will install? (Will it install with Crucible 1.0.3 or does it have to go through the update process) Let me know if anyone knows so I can test my theory.

Well I found an old Installer from build 306979 so while I'm out for a bit, I'll install that build and see if I can get it to Crucible 1.0.0. I'll post an update when I know if I'm successful or not. To anyone who would want to replicate this... feel free to send me an in game eve mail with a real e-mail address, and if this is successful I will send anyone my old Eve installer as well as the log server reports from both the current and old Crucible versions if you want to analyze for yourself. That is again, if this attempt to get crucible 1.0.0 is successful. I am only trying to see what happens at the login screen (as I would be unable to play without updating).

So unfortunately, Eve's self updater is SO advanced (yes sarcasm) that it automatically updates to Crucible 1.0.3 even if you are running off of Incarna, so there is no way I can see to get Eve to start up with Crucible 1.0.0 where the problem had initially been fixed so I could run a side by side log server analysis of the login screen between both versions. Cry

I guess we'll have to leave it up to the pros... unless anyone else has any good ideas...

The issue is that I happen to have my old EVE installer from Incarna (when the whole screen flicker problem originally started) my thought process was that after Installing EVE on incarna, the old update process would make me update through every single build, which would mean I would eventually hit Crucible 1.0.0 and I could perform my analysis, but instead it automaticaly goes from Incarna to Crucible 1.0.3 where the problem remains.

My suspicion as to what is the source of the problem is that a line of code that was taken out in Crucible 1.0.0 came back in 1.0.2 (both my parents were IT specialists, and they said that programmers frequently have this issue of a bug is gotten rid of by one programmer and comes back with another).

Meanwhile I was parsing through a logserver of me just going to the login screen to see if I could identify the issue, and I randomly came accross this...

I checked some of my log server reports from jumping that I took previously, and the hringur.dds is always there and is always in an unsupported format... whatever that means. Hopefully the devs see this and know what it is.

Well, after running a logserver while alt tabbed(when the driver doesn't have to restart) I can still see that entry.

But as you can see my driver never crashes so it doesn't seem like that's it, although it is suspicious. I tried extracting the actual textures from eves .stuff files to see exactly what that texture was, but I couldn't figure out how to get them out.

I'm going to go through all of the .stuff files with a hex editor though and pinpoint which one actually holds the hringur.dds and then work from there.

Also as a side note, I'm also getting that same error message on muzzleflare.dds and beamsoftend.dds so it seems irrelevant.

If you want to download crucible 1.0 it can be done in the form of offline installer. The addresses are:

content.eveonline.com/321452/eveonline_321452_1of2.7z part 1
content.eveonline.com/321452/eveonline_321452_2of2.7z part 2
content.eveonline.com/321452/EVE_Online_Installer_321452.exe installer

But be warned that you cannot play with this build as it is not compatible with current client. so you can only test the startup issue.

Hi all, I wanted to just give you all an update so you don't lose hope. We are still looking into this issue but have yet still been unable to reproduce on any of our in house hardware. We are looking at getting one of the same laptops you are experiencing the issues on to have a better chance of debugging this.

The logserver reports from all of your bugreports do not give us any leads as to what is going on, so we need to reproduce this in the office. I will update you as soon as I have any news.

Ishivan: I'm afraid the hringur.dds in your logs is unrelated to this issue

Laptops?? This is nothing to do with laptops!
I have the same (f#cking annoying) issue again and again on a desktop. Happens more often when being docked and/or in the process of undocking.

That is odd. So far this was reported only on Intel graphic card. Do you have any other graphical chip in your machine (ie onboard one) - even if supposedly disabled?

The majority of reported issues are all on INTEL HD Integrated graphics chips so that is where we are focusing our research. I will find your GPU model in the test lab later today and run some tests on it but this issue isn’t an easy one to reproduce.

No - only the nVidia card. Sometimes it happens several times a minute, and sometimes I can go hours without any problems, which leads me to believe it has to do with certain environments/items/whatever having to be rendered. Just guessing...

Several times a minute? Are you sure you have the same issue? Can you describe the symptoms?

The issue discussed in this thread is black screen during every jump and during startup. Which so far seems to be problem only on certain Intel chips. SO if you have exactly same issue it implicates that the issue is not hardware related.
