Got frustrated to the native mac client and wanted to try wine bottler + win client. Apparently it seems to work really well and was somewhat easy to set up. I'm definetely not an expert on these things, but here is how I got it working:

First follow this guide: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=5259802#post5259802

Except:

3. you have to download the basic windows installer “EveLauncher-XXXXX.exe” from here: http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/. Not that “executable” on this site: http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/offline-installer/

4. you have to also add the winetricks components: vcrun2013 and vcrun2012

Also:

Before starting your EVE.app, open Wine (system tray icon) and go to configuration -> Libraries

-> add d3d11 -> edit -> Disabled
-> add msvcr120.dll -> edit -> Native (Windows)

After that everything worked. In-game I noticed that alt-key isn't working in shortcuts which is kinda annoying. Also resizing windows lags. It's still better than getting random freezes all the time.

EDIT: USE THE WINE SETTINGS CCP ADDED TO LAUNCHER! THIS GUIDE IS NOW OBSOLETE! <3

Thanks for the update on this. A couple questions:

The original guide says: "4. Tick the "self contained" box." I don't have this checkbox. Is it the Bundle checkbox, or one of the three radio buttons under the file selection?

You say "Before starting your EVE.app, open Wine and go to configuration -> Libraries". Is this in the WIne app or in a terminal session? I try to open the Wine app itself and get nothing at all.

Thanks for your help. I'm getting real tired of the EVE Mac client and the new launcher.

Edit:
Nevermind on the second question, I finally saw the Wine menu bar icon...

"Is it the Bundle checkbox, or one of the three radio buttons under the file selection?"
-It's the "App Bundle: Include Wine.app..." radio button

"I try to open the Wine app itself and get nothing at all."
-Right click the wine app in your system tray. It's the wineclass icon. Might need to relog or something to get it.

Just installed via wine bottle. I have huuuge issues with maps, both system( for probing) and universe map. It just won't load map contents - just black screen. Also There some language issues with hot-keys. when I point on some button - I got ???? instead of hot-key note.
