Hello all,

I set up a trial a few years ago, and never really got into the game and shelved it. I recently thought to start playing again and re-activated me account.

My question is, is there a point in getting started so late in the game's life cycle? I mean, to train into some of these ships takes years of training. I know "EVE is dying" is one those things that gets tossed around, but I'm asking from the new player's perspective, is it worth even putting the time into the game? Has CCP ever mentioned the life cycle of their game?

It seems like a cool universe, but I don't want to invest time with games like SC around the corner if CCP doesn't plan on keeping the game going for much longer.

"People are stupid. They believe things mainly because they either want them to be true or fear them to be true."

Eve has been "dying" since it was born. Eve was "dying" when I started 2.5 years ago and I have had a blast. And while it takes a long time to train everything, it doesn't take a long time to train something. Some of my fondest memories of EVE are from the very early days when I was experimenting and trying new things. Never feel like you have to wait for skills to get involved in EVE. You can be just as involved as a 2003 bittervet after a week of training, with a bit of proper guidance from a good corporation.

If you are having fun now, does it matter what the future holds? Nevertheless, I expect EVE to stick around for a while yet.

Actually CCP has committed to "EvE Forever", we will probably be all dead and dust while EvE is still around ... IMO.

I'm my own NPC alt.

Hmz, not going to bite the obvious SC bait. Not that it matters, crappy game anyway

If you want to play EVE, why ask.

If not, why ask.

If you doubt, thats why they have trials.

And name any MMO that is 13 years old and going strong?

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive, and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

Have Fun with SC! I'll still be here. Locked.
