The suicide cult of CODE is deleterious

I really enjoy playing EVE and its sense of community. However, some areas are quite disturbing. I am talking about James 315 and the deleterious cult of CODE.

James 315 has delusions of grandeur and his cult like ramblings remind me of Jim Jones of Jonestown infamy. Truly believing his own rhetoric that CODE are contributing to the betterment and growth of Eve.

His naïve guileless cult like followers have all the hallmarks of religious brainwashing. It is their personal choice to follow his ramblings, but to force through threats others to carry his "all hail James 315" mantra is beyond the pale.

Our parents told us to stand up to bullies and never bow down to false prophets. Hold firm to your sense of right and be brave in Eve.

STAND AS FREEMEN

BURN YOUR CODE PERMIT

HELP YOUR UNSUNG MINERS AND PATROL THEIR BELTS

AS INDIVIDUALS COME TO UEDAMA AND STOP CODE GANKING

AS CORPORATIONS FLEET UP AND DRIVE CODE OUT OF EMPIRE

DO NOT BE INTIMIDATED ANY LONGER

OP.

Please excuse my pointing out that by your being in an NPC corp, presumably to avoid any HiSec interactions, you prove J315's point about why CODE must exist to help improve Eve as a whole. So instead of calling for others to do "your" holy work for you, form a corporation and rally others to your cause. Otherwise you, as so many others before you, are the cause of the problem of HiSec stagnation to which J315 is just a symptom.

Agree with you about joining a corp, but Its good to have at least one toon in a NPC.

I fully support and encourage this effort to combat CODE. Eve is at its best when there is conflict driving the stories we write. Organized anti-gank activities are a most welcome addition to the content of the game.

Guys, it's going to be hard. CODE has been doing this for years and they know their craft. You're going to fail far more than you succeed. Learn from those failures, try new things, and grow. You'll be better players for it, regardless of how your efforts to curb ganking end up.

Intelligent people have a grasp of linguistics and the culture they are communicating within. There is a time for jokes by butchering the language and a time to communicate your feelings very clearly. I am sure the majority of Eve players can comprehend this.

I vote that we switch vocabulary to that used by architecture students.

Under this system we would get to use stupid non-words like curvilinear, materiality and walkability. It would be ever so much fun.

Look at all the content that James 315 had created with the New Order. Even you, OP, are enjoying the benefit of all this content. Would you care to buy a mining permit? Without one, it's like you're stealing from James 315 by using His content without paying for it.

Man, this kool-aid is delicious.

For dessert we're offering humble pie.  Would you like some after you're done eating crow?

The problem basically comes when you realise that there is a real problem to speak out on, and when you do, and it suddenly dawns on you that no one is going to take you seriously due to all that crazy pseudo-ESL student **** you chatted earlier.

QFT.

I have long since grown tired of those who can not change demanding it of others. Be it in the form of demanding CCP make Hisec safe to autopilot a shuttle full of PLEX or the crys for the population to rise up without any willingness to be a part of the change. If any organization wanted to actually organize and fight CODE they (at least in theory) could be defeated. Which ultimately is the goal of CODE. So even in defeat they win, but that is a separate discussion. None the less, if all of those who have been working so hard to rant about code were to become an organized enforcement body, then they could enforce their own rules.

Furthermore, CODE already operates at a significant disadvantage since they are, by and large, already -10 and open targets. So the "white knights" don't even have to loose every ship they pilot. But it will never work piece meal. It would require the targets (freighters, miners, or mission bears) to change their minds and participate in their own safety. And evidence shows that is less likely than winning the powerball.

Indeed. The chances of them rising-up en masse against anything are practically nil because of their complacency. Even if they did, I don't think CODE. has anything to worry about from players who don't even understand basic game mechanics such as d-scan, alignment, or the contacts system.
