After 5 Disconnects today, one of them whilst chasing a Freighter Happy would not be how you can describe my attitude today.
I am into my 10th year in this game this year and never have i experienced this.
Please try to push this through as quickly as possible to find the answer.
Thank you

i know the feels. i'm in my 4th year playing (4th year this last Xmas) and if this is what we can look forward to then i doubt i'll be around for subscription. first 3 years perfect gameplay and no issues....well the odd disconnect in a fleet operation or when too many people in the same system....but nothing to this level. i'd send a report to CCP but honestly what is the point. it'll go unnoticed and i'll still be upset over this issue. i wonder how many people are considering just letting their subs run out or just stop playing......(something i am sure you have heard over the years in the forum and ingame many times before)

it's a joke. one at our expense. oh look those silly video gamers want to have fun on their day off....what can we do to ruin their fun......~random office guy mentions~ "oh i know let's not fix the server" ~first office guy~ "that sounds perfect" and many people don't enjoy yet another day of playing their favourite video game/MMO.

Got a Reply!!!

Each client makes it's own independent connection to the server so it is entirely possible that one client loses the connection while another one is somehow still connected.

The client will send data to the server when you perform a command or some action occurs within the game. If no data is coming to or from the client then it is possible the client will not realizes it has lost connectivity until it tires to send a data. When the client fails to send or receive five consecutive packets to or from the server the client will close the connection.

There are of course some exceptions were something happens and a large number of players lose the connection simultaneously to the server but these cases are usually rare and are usually caused by an ISP going down somewhere in these players connection route to the server.

While I would love to be able to do something from our side to solve these issues there ins't anything I can do except suggest you contact your ISP for assistance. If there is anything else I can assist with then please update your ticket.

Best Regards,
GM Mechanic

No, just no. When this happened on a mass scale in 2012 I don't remember ever getting an answer from CCP.

Coincidence?

Makes me laugh that CCP closed my petitiom as solved and yet me and other players are still getting these disconnects.
And yet nobody from CCP have replied to the problems here.
If it is our ISP as they say then it is everybody's ISP from other countries around the world.
There is a problem somewhere CCP and sticking your head in the sand will not make it go away.
Maybe ending my monthly subscription is the way forward for myself and my alts!!!
Using my in game isk till it runs dry then just sticking 2 fingers in the air is maybe the way forward to get them to sit up and take notice.

Same here and still getting "The Socket Closed" error.

Everyone can see and almost no one cares.
