Citadel defense 101.

A corporation contacted Archetype to defend there citadel.

The war targets set themselves up on the Citadel and started opening fire with Phatasms, Nightmares and RR Basi.
Unfortunately we couldn't yet defend and had 40 mins to wait before our war went live.

HOWEVER.....
One of our trackers noticed one of the nightmares had a active KR and so did a basi. Archetype moved into position and set up a cunning plan. The defenders undocked there ships and we jumped in. Warpin to the aggressors the KR was activated and we all engaged the nightmare.

Because the nightmare took damage all of the basi went to rep and went global. It was pretty much wipe out all there logistics and the nightmare. The WT cleared the field and after a while left system and logged.

The awesome thing there was only 7% on the shield left before it went into first stage RF.

HIRE ARCHETYPE.... to really **** your WT off.

Agreed, when hiring someone to curb stomp my enemies, it only makes sense to hire the most pure the virtuous to engage in honorable combats.


Mercs aren't white knights and they aren't hired to be white knights. They get hired because they fulfill their contractual obligations. I could care less if BillyBoB the merc is boinking his sister or your in game mom between contacts. I care about their results and contract fulfillment reputation.

Hmmm, that's a tough one. Actually it's pretty easy. I said what I said and meant what I meant. I said nothing about reflection upon the wider picture. It appears that you're one of those folks that likes to 'read in' a lot of things that aren't there.

I'll big picture this for you. (my view) Eve is a space fantasy game.

I log in and pretend I'm a super awesome space pilot that has billiions of space bucks (it's actually true - in game). Serendipity does a lot of things in Eve that I would consider anywhere from WRONG to DOWN RIGHT HORRIBLE in RL, but OK within the confines of the game. When I log in I bring a certain moral code with me.... sort of. On one hand I won't lie, cheat or steal from other plays - because I want to maintain a reputation that reflects that. On the other hand I destroy a lot of poop - ships, corps, dreams... heck I even do the occasional suicide gank in empire space.

How does this play out with the rest of the game?? Some players I'm sure trust me 100% with all their eve everything. Some hate/loathe/despise me for the 'crimes' I've committed against them. Others go from 'Serendipity who?' to shrugs and indifference.

In game I destroy, ransom and bully. Out of game I'm... a bit older than the average eve player, have a stable and respectable job (I've worked all my life since I was 16), I've raised 3 children (one is out of the house and living on her own), my kids (primary focus of my life) all graduated in the top 5 of their class, excelled in one or multiple sports, played musical instruments, were never pushed (but were encouraged) to excel in all they do. I'm a volunteer fireman.

What does all this have to do with you hiring or not hiring me to do a space game mercenary contract?? Everything and nothing all at the same time.

I usually enjoy your posts, but you've completely missed the ball here. Your RL experiences are irrelevant.

think i could be a merc? id work super hard to make sure you guys got as many free wardecs as possible

hey saeger what happened to that fight you said you were bringing the last time you wardecced us? gonna bring the fight this time, i mean whats the point in wardeccing if you too scared to come get a real fight?

I liked your comment because its a challenge but I must defend our position two ways: First, suicidally jumping into your home low-sec wherein you are perfectly Cap-capable and bat-phone capable is not, and will never in the history of this game be a "real/fair" fight. Any decs we place against you are usually contracts from a client upset about being killed *in lowsec* by your dudes, and apparently our warnings of "this is a low-sec group that will rarely make itself a presentable target" go unheeded. That said... looks like people on both sides of the fence didn't heed those warnings

Second: we like our way of life and I always laugh off people who think there is a way to PVP "for real" in this game; preferring the hunt over the straight up fight/brawl is how you stay efficient and profitable, satisying clients by doing maximum damage to their target with minimal loss. No one in ATYPE is "afraid" to go to low/null; all it takes is a jump into an empty clone in a Cit of ours, a 10 second process. But, why, when there are targets to hunt?

We play our game, you guys live and fight where you do because you prefer it, and I'm certain you're taunted needlessly to "come to null" by those entities to get "real fights". We don't have the means to capital brawl should it escalate to that, and refer to point one about why we don't just "do it anyway.
