Long story short:

Submitted a ticket regarding a question about escalations, on 15th December.

Got a reply on the 20th (only checked today, d'oh!) from GM Spider, not only answering my question but crediting my account with 5 days game time because of the tardiness of the reply. He even apologised for the delay. Very sweet (wo)man!

Just wanted to say that it is all too easy to jump on the flame bandwagon from time to time (God knows that it is such a temptation sometimes, and Bumble is not excluded from this Oops), but if we're patient and assume good faith, sometimes magical things can happen!

Thank you CCP!

lol this is very very very rare, please dont try to make everyone believe its the norm, because most people are waiting weeks for even a response

Where did I claim it was the norm, or try to make others believe that this was the ordinary course of events?

Show me where I was trying to propagate that - as opposed to just saying 'thanks' - or it's back under the bridge for you.

Little while back one of my alts had his skillqueue cleaned for no reason, i believe it was around the start of frostline.

When i opened a ticket about it i got a great apology and 3 days worth of unallocated SP.

Way more generous then needed, needless to say.

Even after my break (a year or so ) i got contacted by a GM asking if i want my stuff and myself moved back to highsec or location of choise.

Its the little things, if something happens, they make sure of it were not let down/compensated, one of the many reason that i find this game to be incredible.

10. Posting of private CCP communication is prohibited. Shocked

unless it's approved or complementary. (situation ethics)

i don;t think that rule means what you think it means.

posting communication is:

"Hi sir/ma'em.

we regret to inform you that we have banned your account of xxx a date for xxx a reason. No further discusstion will be had. Flay safe.

RandomGM"

not

"OMG, i had an issue and ccp banned my account! Is there anyway to talk to the supervisor of randomgm who was the one that banned me to get this over turned?"

is sample 1 communication is clearly posted. in sample 2 no communication is posted.

see the difference?

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Yeah, I have to say I was super-impressed when I made a request to look up an old account for which I did not remember the username, and only had some of the standard details needed for a recovery. The entire process took about one hour, even with a few back-and-forths for additional information.

Great service by any measure, I had fully expected it would take days at best.

The one time I needed to deal with a GM the response was within 24 hours.

Support, in regards to an expired credit card, got back to be in 2 hours.

I have almost 10 years experience in a field that could be related to a "technical support service" type (though the technology is rather... esoteric), and people need to realize, the more complex the issue, the longer the response. Also, a flood of one particular issue will delay response. Sometimes we'll delay a response when we know we can provide a solution in that first response. For that reason whenever I deal with other technical support departments, it's actually a good sign when we don't get a fast response.

(on a side note, in case anybody is wondering, when a technical support department communicates with another technical support department, we give each other priority, top of the que, fast track, etc. and we even stop to ask how the weather is where they are)

To be honest, CCP is one of those rare game companies that actually cares about their playerbase and caters to everybody's needs.
Take other companies like Activision (Destiny), or Frontier (Elite: Dangerous). These are teeming with money-grubbing goblins that use agressive marketing strategies (kudos to Activision) for promoting their products. However, they never deliver with their vague promises and countless lies, yet somehow they still find enough fools with loose purses, ripe for the picking.

Thank you, CCP, for being such a good company!
