You can read lot of forums and there is two camps

  • Is it one human that handles all acounts? Yes, it's solo
  • Is it more than one acount involved? Yes, it's not solo.

What is truth, is your choice ;)
Until now, I had not much to say on the matter. However, certain fundamental facts of reality cannot, and should not be denied, ignored or otherwise brushed aside. If it's ONE ship, it's solo. If it's MORE than ONE ship, it's not. The point is debatable only to someone trying to claim using two or more ships is just like using one.

The reasoning behind this is the intended design limitations of ships. They are designed for a specific amount of gunnery. If even one person on multiple accounts can bring more to bear, it can only be done with an additional ship - therefore outside the intended design limitation. One cannot juke ones way past the fact this was done by monkeying with words. Sorry. Facts are stubborn things.

I could go through the litany...support capability / dps capability ....the ships are intended and designed so as not to be uber, all-in-one machines. With a strength, you get accompanying weakness. The only way to skirt this is multiple ships...not solo.

Sorry...sorta.

So I trap my opponent in a large anchored bubble. We fight and he burns out his prop but kills my ship. I warp back to a nearby POS where I have a 2nd ship waiting in space. I board the ship and make it back to my opponent before he gets out of the bubble to warp or jump through the gate and manage to kill him, but that isn't a solo kill? Improbable but not impossible. So would it be a solo kill?

Or... Some one attacks my POS. I pop them using the POS guns. It is my POS in a corp with only myself as a member. I wasn't even in a ship, just a pod at the POS. Is that a solo kill?

No, in that case you're using one ship at a time. Your opponent always has the same option to trade one ship in for another. That's still mano a mano. I think, however, you understood what I said in the first post; using two or more ships AT THE SAME TIME. This is done with great frequency. However, if done this way "solo" can't apply.

People should have more pride in accomplishment than to make such a claim.

As long as the tale of the hunt is told by the hunter, and not the lion, it will favor the hunter.
