Any chance we could see different icons for scripted EWAR? Right now you can know if you are Range or Scanres damped by opening the fitting window, Optimal/Tracking disrupted by hovering over your guns (or doing a show info)... However this takes many valuable seconds that you often don't have in a fight. Being able to see that with a glance would be a great quality of life improvement.

Thoughts on in the future having vocal warnings or sounds for ECM and other effects? With the option to add/remove sounds for each effect. Similar to the sounds of the shield and armor percentage warnings.

I like what you're doing but I think the identity of some of the ewar icons is harder to pick out now that their usual colour is being masked by the red and blue.

Would it be possible to place the original icons on top of the red and blue circles to preserve their colours but still show which ones are good and bad?

Or perhaps another approach would be to ask yourself how you would have designed these status effect icons if they were to be colour coded from the beginning rather than trying to make do with the original icons?

I'd rather not have the EWAR icons themselves tinted.
A red or green background (though maybe different colors for color blind reasons) is good, but having the whole thing red of green kind of washes out what the effect is.
It would also be nice to see, at a glance how many of each effect is stacked on you.

I haven't seen it on singularity yet but will the colour make it difficult to tell the difference between a scram and long point? They are just subtly different colours atm. Maybe change the icons a bit, similar to neut vs nos?

Too much color saturation, must be more close to eve style i think.

Yeah, pretty hard to tell the difference between disruptors and scrams: http://i.imgur.com/HcgbuGP.png Maybe fade the colour layer a bit.

Also, red and green? Please do red and blue for colour blind people which I imagine would be better.

Great idea love it.

I agree with many of the changes asked for above, Especially that the icons need no color backgrounds, but just a colored ring around them which cycles as the timer for that effect does - just as fitted modules and cloaks do. And possibly only one icon for each same effect - so to know how many there are. A range to target under each one would be helpful.

Only problem with bad and good marking on each icon is that with the new command Destroyer ships -- being scrammed by your friends is a 'thing' now - to avoid your being jumped away by the bad guys. Possibly have the color of the rings around each icon not based on 'what' it is - but actually 'Who' is doing it? (ie your fleet doing it is green and non fleet is red?)

Also it would be nice if we could tell when someone is trying to use ewar on you but that it is not strong enough to effect you (like weak jammers or warp scrams that don't have enough points to actually scram you). Possibly by being greyed out or flashing? and then turn solid when they do work?

I would add that it would be nice either having a line to the offending ship if its visible on screen (maybe if tactical screen is on?) or better yet have the ability to use rt-clik menu on each Icon with options ---or best yet the ability to just select the icon to activate a target lock to the offending enemy ship that is using the ewar on you (*ie., make the ewar icons like overview entries where you can choose commands on the selection - like approach, orbit, etc.). On that score It would be nice to have a ship move command (similar to orbit or approach) that would make your ship fly directly away from someone (evade).

Looks better now: http://i.imgur.com/GRVczeO.png. I have no problems with red/green, but idk how it is for others.

You can't see if the attempt failed, besides the missing circle though: http://i.imgur.com/CHYXan2.png.

Maybe, you know... finally change the icon on one so it's a bit more unique.

What we really need is a calm female voice saying "Attention, you have been scrammed/webbed/painted by a an enemy frigate/destroyer/cruiser."

And have an alarming "warp warp warp" noise to go with it.

Trust me, to hear this as you get taken down by a gang of pirates, it would never get old.

I've always considered that to be a problem with the module icons themselves. Even without some form of color blindness, blue and a bluish green aren't too dissimilar on casual glance, especially when the icons are reduced in size.

This thing is a game changer. Thank you CCP very much. It will enhance our gamep lay by a lot. Just one suggestion please add the scripted option so we know what we are debuffed or buffed with. it is very important.

I want to be able to see at glance what scripts i need to change on my Guard based on the debuffing icons.

Really good job CCP.

Hi everyone,

In order to fix an issue with overlapping texts when you were being actively jammed through ECM, we decided to add the jamming effects to be visible in the offensive effect bar you see above the Ship HUD (The capacitor/health/speed UI).

We're looking for feedback on this new look so we can adjustments if necessary. Please try this out in game on Singularity if you can, and let us know what you think.

We also added incoming (remote) defensive effects, such as capacitor transfer, sensor boosting, tracking links, ECCM projection, hull & armor repairers, and finally shield boosting.

You can see an image of how this looks in game here:

Offensive effects will always appear to the left, and Defensive to the right.

Update:
There have been some modifications in reacting to the feedback. Please let us know what you think, so that we can make further changes if necessary.

Looks good but i would like to see a QTY of whats hitting u at the same time as what we have here is good for 1v1 but when you have more then 1 on you it would be good to see. E.G. a small number above saying yeah your scrammed but by 2,3,4, 50. etc....

perhaps an answer to the issues of warp scram/disrupt icons would be either to have a D and an S in the appropriate icon or 1 icon with the top half lit for scram and the bottom half lit for disrupt. obviously fully lit for both together.

just a thought

I too have to insist that only the ring be colored, it is a lot of saturation. And again, scrambles and disrupts are and always have been hard to tell apart.

when you hoverover the new effects icon will it show you who is doing the module on you?
Like for incursions if you had only 7/8 logis shield repping you but 8 were locking you, could you tell the difference from the new Hud icons?

ps. Scram is dark blue, points are teal.

What i'd like to see is a scram notification in letters showing up like if someone were using a scram on you when someone uses the new HIC scram on you. k tx bai

Excellent update!
In the past two years, you're correcting issues Eve had since 2003; one of them was the poor and uninformative UI. These changes arrive 10 years late, but are very welcome nevertheless. Keep up the good work!
