Roles at a pos

So my corp has two towers, one for the older more trusted members, and one for the newer guys

My question is what are the bare minimum roles needed to let the newer guys use the compression array and manufacture / research blueprints?

That's a big can of worms you are opening.

For the compression array there should be an option to let let any corp or alliance member use and take items from it. There shouldn't be much of an issue of theft unless people leave things in there for a while.

For researching that is a much bigger deal. Each person will need the corp roles of Factory Manager, Rent Research Slot, and Rent Factory Slot. As long as you do not give them access to a corp wallet they will have to use their own funds to start jobs. Now comes the bad part. They will also have to have Take access to a Hanger division. This access would allow anyone who has it to take any item from any hanger they have access to. They could steal anything they want out of said hangers. This would allow any member to start and complete a research job using their own funds and materials.

It is possible to setup view access to one division so that your members can use corp bpos but not take them. They will still need take access from a separate division to actually receive their output materials.

I don't know if this answer your question but there is no way to limit roles or access permits to a single structure or pos. The only way to avoid drama is to password protect the pos and create different pos for different tasks but this requires a lot of trust among the ones who have access to the same pos.

Also, citadels are landing in few months and fixing all this mess.

Compression Array, Refining Array, and Ship Maintenance Array (grant "USE" for fitting service):

Tower > Manage > Structures > Access > Compression Array
VIEW: Corporation
TAKE: Corporation
USE : Corporation

Default for all modules is Config Starbase, which you should never need to give anybody other than people that anchor / unachor or online / offline modules (other than silos).

Configuring POS access is one of the biggest nightmares in this game. It's one of the reasons why corp theft is so rampant among w-space groups. However, it looks like the new citadels will be much more promising in terms of configuration.
