Just in time for the Holidays, we're happy to announce a new Chronicle, "Inheritance", this time by CCP Delegate Zero.

This Chronicle follows the Society of Conscious Thought’s Matshi Raish, who awakens from being forcibly cloned to find he has an unexpected visitor waiting for him. This visitor takes Matshi Raish on a journey that will change him, and the future of New Eden, forever.

You can read the full piece on the community portal here.

Delegate Zero! Sleeper Hives question! The Drifter Hives were, to our knowledge, inaccessible until recently. Does this mean that the Drifter Hives were actually far more accessible previously? How did they get looted if Capsuleers couldn't get there? Or, by Sleeper Hives, did you mean to refer to Sleeper Enclaves?

Or was the cloning infrastructure scattered around things like, say, the Bioinformatics Center in J000214?

[Minor Spoiler]

A Sleeper 'Hive' is any place where there is the infrastructure to restore a Sleeper to its original (or a newly cloned) body. Not all of this would be large dedicated structures - there was a lot of it scattered through Sleeper Enclaves.

This was my attempt to focus on the resurrection infrastructure as distinct from the Enclaves as a whole. Sorry if it was confusing.

Aweome :)

I guess we know what that little detail was about in the Scope ticker mentioning CONCORD now too, eh?

And I was really surprised and excited to see Veniel again - Veniel's been involved in literally every event that's happened in the game regarding Jove things, from Baniya to Ouria (who I'm also really glad to hear more about) to the Immensea incident - the stuff explained in the "Forgotten Ruins" short story. I loved that the Yoiul appeared again as well - and I'm pretty damn happy with my background story decisions now, looking at all of this ;)

All in all, amazing chronicle - I'm so excited to see where this goes!

I suppose this is a big enough of a spoiler that it will not be revealed, but because of what this chroicle discussed I wonder if SoCT or the few remaining Jove had anything to do with the assasination of Jamyl? I mean they could have "leaked" the data they found about her mental state to the Drifters who are most likely not fans of entities born of the sleeper simulation, if I understood everything right. So they destroyed it with extreme prejudice. Makes sense, as we have not seen such a show of force since, when they're clearly capable of it. Could explain the incursions as well, they are searchig and sweeping all traces of the Entity or entities they find and destroy anyone who tries to stop them.

Of course if Drifters are entirely entities born of the simulation themselves and not reawekend sleepers then all this speculation falls flat on its face.

Well my fascination with the Talocan has not been diminished after reading this one. Wonderful chronicle and a nice way to solve the Jove problem. Interested to see what the Society is going to do now they have received the Jove legacy and more to the point what the other Empires might do as a response to that news.

In this dark void we are like brilliant stars, holding within us both the creative and destructive power to bring a new dawn upon worlds or plunge them into eternal darkness.

Quite the amazing reading! I had one minor question on the story structure itself. About 9 paragraphs down, in the first "Geminate Region, Location Unknown, Jove Cruiser, Yoiul, YC117.07.25" section, we read: "“Their grand design?” prompted Veniel." It almost seems like it would be Matshi Raish doing the prompting?

But really, that was, as has been said, fantastic!

You're right, it should have said 'Raish prompted Veniel'. Corrected that. Good catch, thanks.

Thanks for the comments.

Read it. Loved it. Cried over Jamyl.
Well done.

YC117: the year I flew with Her Majesty, watched her Majesty die, and flew in the Amarr Trials. I won a Silver Magnate, but lost for Sarum.
Here's hoping that 118 is better for Amarr.
You should really go ruin the Minmatar this year. Knock off Shakor or something.

You're getting a lot of these, Delegate Zero, but I honestly felt my need to chime in.

Capital work! I've read it three times. You'll have provided work and wonder for the Lore folks for months.

Many thanks!
