In-Game Events and Gatherings

The following is occurring right now. More information in my latest posts to this thread on page 2.

I love ganking. I don't do it as much as I used to, and enjoy other things a lot more, but don't get me wrong, I love ganking. More than doing it myself though, I love the content generated by the concept of it. The various reasons one might have for doing so, be it profit, intimidation, luls, the list goes on, all contribute to the overarching player-generated perpetual story of the EVE universe.

I preface this with the above because, as far as I can tell, gankers don't get the recognition they should. Sure, you get recognition, but it's usually of the ragey, hateful variety. Which is why, on Friday, January 1, I'm going to undock a Mastadon hauling ten Plex and a fleet hangar bay full of goodies. Who knows what might be inside? Could be a pricey pirate battleship, or 50K m3 of scrap metal. I'm just gonna see what goodies I can come up with to cram in there.

Here's how it's going to happen, though. First of all, it'll be undocking on my alt, Bozidar Jasmone. You'll need to find him. He gets around a lot, to various places, so you won't be able to figure out where I'll be starting from if you watchlist and track him now. I'll be jumpcloning him somewhere completely different. Secondly, only the Mastadon will count. If he undocks anything else, and it gets ganked, he will be logging off for the rest of the day. There may be errands I have to run, and he's who I do it with. Ten plex are on the line here people! Don't burn your opportunity by melting the wrong ship. I will be running errands in something other than a Mastadon, so there's no reason to **** this one up.

Thirdly, Boz's time of departure will be exactly when I feel like it. I'm not playing favourites with timezones, although I happen to be Australian so you're most likely to catch me anywhere between the hours of 0000 - 1600 GMT, which is 10am - 12 midnight for me. I'm never awake before ten, but I am sometimes still up after midnight. Anyway, point is, I may even run more than one Mastadon, who knows? I have a bonus paycheque coming so I'm gonna be buying a lot of plex.

And finally, the reason I'm using a Mastadon is to challenge you, the ganker. I know for a fact that a Mastadon can be caught, but what are you willing to risk to catch it? What tactics can you devise to defeat its nano-fit and +2 native warp core strength? Will you just HIC it and hope enough plex drops to cover the loss? Whatever happens, should be fun.

Oh, as a final note, in case it's not self-explanatory enough in the above, this will be happening in high-sec. If you want the plex, it has to be a suicide gank. If you wardec Boz's corp, I'll just drop him to NPC status ^_^

Additional edit: as for some rules on me, 1. once I undock, I'm not allowed to dock up anywhere again, 2. I will stick to systems between 0.5-0.8. No need to make it harder on you guys than it needs to be, and 3. if someone wants to nominate a third party who can check my API to confirm the presence of plex on Boz at the time I undock. I would welcome it. I really want to reward someone for a successful high-sec DST catch, and for their generally villainous but hefty contribution to the EVE Online meta game. I don't want people thinking this is a trap to get some pricey lossmails, I really don't want that at all.

I mixed up my calendar dates, and have to push this back to Feb 1. This is MY FAULT and I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for getting expectations up! In order to buy this much plex, I need my bonus, and I screwed up the date it comes in, so THANK YOU for your patience with me, I want to do this, but I have to push it back a month.

I have been a member of CODE. in the past. I was wardeccing with them because they had targets, and I got a lot of very cool fights with them. I won some, lost some, we all had a great time. Well, most of us. Some people just get salty when they lose ships, and that's to be expected. That being said, I won't be playing favourites. As gankers, I support CODE. 100%. As propagandists.... well, let's just say, they're not the only role players in the game, and move on shall we?

This will be live until DT, or until someone catches Bozidar. If, at the end of this event, no one has tried, the event will end. If attempts are made, but no successes, PLEX will be rewarded to people involved in the attempts. Thank you, and good luck.

No attempts were made during this second three-hour high sec roam. As such, I am calling it here for now and it will resume again on Sunday.

I imagine that would be the case. I suppose I should also point out that in the case of a gang kill, the loot will be free-for-all. I'm not determining who gets it, I'll let the gankers do what the gankers do

Stop it, you're gonna make me cry tears of joyfulness and tears aren't good for keyboards.

I think it would be supremely fun to constantly pop any and all ships you might undock (before, during and after the challenge), on the off-chance that you might be carrying the Civilian Shield Booster and Civilian Gatling Gun that I so crave

Well in that case, have at it good sir! I have to warn you though, I may be armed to the teeth with Civilian Gatling Guns.

There's going to be a crowd of gankers there. You do realise how easy a Noctis is to gank, right? Like, I can solo one with a Catalyst, easy.

Let me know when you've got something to contribute to this game, then I'll consider your opinion worth taking seriously instead of less precious than my belly button lint.
