Suggestion: permanent access to a solace like skill testing server

The main thing i took with me from the short period of time where the solace server was up to test the hardware, was how many people changed their skillplans after they could try everything at perfect skills.

For example on reddit where a lot of people saying how they will or will not train for capitals, marauders, logi frigs etc etc.

If you spend months of training, you should be able to test what you will get for said training. I won't buy a car without testdriving it as well.

After all it helps CCP as well. One dude on reddit for example told me a story of a friend, who really wanted a golem. However it was not how he expected it to be. He was extremly dissapointed and frustrated and ended up leaving the game.

I know most people will say something about sisi now. However Sisi is in my eyes more for testing game changes and not for this kind of stuff. Especially if you are someone with very limited time to play, unable to attend the masstests.

If someone quits a game because one thing he tried for didn't work out, the game probably isn't for him.

Most skills you need to train to test a ship will benefit you in other ways in the game. Just train up the preqs on TQ and then test it on Sisi.

If you don't want to wait to train up those skills volunteer for a few mass tests and you will have 6 mil SP to mess around with to test things for a mirror or two.

Don't expect CCP to spend valuable Dev time creating another environment for player testing when there are ways to do that testing now.

One other thing, the test severs were never made publically available for us to test things before we do them on TQ. CCP just finds it convenient since us doing that testing tests their builds as well.

Access to the test servers is not part of our subs and CCP could revoke that access if they find it more troublesome than its worth.

Except one of the big driving forces that gets enough people on sisi fir mass tests is the bonus sp you get this would remove that incentive and may very well remove the incentive to use sisi at all. And we need ppl on sisi

This change will benefit everyone else at my expense and I wholeheartedly support it because this game is getting too easy when I can take advantage of everyone by cross-training absolutely everything. It's not everyone else's fault they actually have a drive to excel in one area, and it's certainly not bad for the game that it isn't full of boring blank slates like me.

As the meta changes, people will want to change their skill plans to match it. Understanding the meta will make more people want free SP, not less.
