Looked through answers and replies but i'm unable to see this mentioned:

When the launcher updates itself, it change or remove "launcher.exe" and substitute it with "evelauncher.exe"

This change isn't recognized by "eve.exe" in "x:\CCP\EVE"-folder, it will try to start "launcher.exe" which is now non-existent.

By manually changing the name "evelauncher.exe" back to "launcher.exe" fixes this.

You are not intended to install the new launcher on top of the old one - it should be installed in an empty folder.

So, "eve.exe" will be aware of this new location and launch the eve-launcher from there?

Here's an interesting bug.

EVE client got socket closed. Launcher ended up hanging up after closing the client through the Quit button presented ingame. I didn't notice it was socket closed until a hour or so later. So it seems the launcher didnt like that state?

Had to force kill launcher.

Does it say this in the instructions? I do not recall seeing that

New launcher is slower for me than the old one, is this normal? Meaning that I have to wait up to 30 seconds till it says "Ready" at the bottom (a problem I didn't had with the old launcher). If I restart the launcher, it says "Ready" immediately though.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Digging into this right now.

Had a look again. I just set up a few bookmarks on my account using the 'old' launcher. I then went back and fired up the same account using the new launcher. Open View->Client Settings and dragged my settings from the left hand box over to the right hand box. Then opened the client using those settings, voila. Bookmarks available.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you do this, I cannot see an open view > client settings. also i can only open the one account so when you say left hand box to right hand box where exactly are you talking about.

If you click the cog-wheel next to your account name and choose 'Manage Profiles', you will get a pop-up window offering you to migrate your old settings to the new launcher. You can drag your settings from the left side over to the right side, and they will then become available for you to use in the new launcher. Mind you, you will also have to choose which settings to use, as the new launcher will automatically use the 'default' settings. Just click the appropriate setting profile after managing your profiles.

Any word on the Mac launcher not retaining individual screen size and graphics settings?

Would it be possible to include in each of the EvE account profiles, the 'display adaptor' I like many other players probably have move than one screen and would therefore like to people to have each EvE session appear on each preferred screen instead of having to each time rearrange them, thanks.

Basically brought up the same problem in more detail on the previous page but haven't received an answer yet why it is slower like this.

If the launcher is not "Ready" could we please have the "Play Selected" button hashed and disabled?

Also, if you do bring up the error dialog about files being locked, make the 3rd choice say "Cancel" rather than "Ignore" (or whatever it says now).

Also, why am I frequently seeing 30 second waits for "Ready" while apparently some files are getting copied? It isn't a client update or a launcher update. What's going on? Marketing foo updates? The Beta Launcher is sliding back into being as bad as the original Launcher....

We welcome you to check out the EVE Launcher with all its new features, improved diagnostics tools, and clear design. The download pages have been updated accordingly and are ready for you. The classic Launcher is still available for download, but is only suggested for Windows XP users.

How can you guys continually release updates that neglect or inconvenience your Mac customer base? Cases in point:

• The "Run game on DirectX 9" option, which is still present despite being acknowledged as an oversight. This was pointed out Dec-11/2015.
• The new launcher does not retain screen sizes for individual clients, and occasional changes or reverts graphic settings. This was pointed out Nov-14/2015.

There is also a bug where if you have Multi Launcher set to anything less than 1 second it will lock up. Fairly certain this was also pointed out previously, but if not - consider this now pointed out. Jan-1/2016.

I'm really at a loss for how things go from "Beta" to "Live" for the rest of the player base when the Mac versions are still at an Alpha state and released either incomplete or with glaring bugs, to be fixed 'whenever'. A great example of this are all the new graphic effects - which with the exception of the engine exhausts and armor damage are all but non-existant for Mac users.

This is only relevant *IF* the new launcher can migrate the old profile properly.
The new launcher failed to migrate any of my character's in-game settings or layouts - and yes I selected the profile after migrating in order to launch it.

Just read your post, exact same problem as mine! Saying "Copying" and all that stuff.
BTW when it comes to starting multiple accounts, on one of the computers I use, when I type username and password for one of my accounts, I end up with a list of all three of my accounts. On a second computer, I see only the account I typed the credentials for. Why my accounts aren't linked on the second computer? They are all using the same e-mail address.

Workarounds are not bugfixes.

I use several account on two computers. Sometimes the launcher forgets the profile of one (or one other) character.
I can not reproduce it. It occasionaly occurs.

By any chance - can you tell me, what stuff is written where in the profiles ?

I would like to have a basic profile which fits for all chars. Then i would like to copy "all" to my laptop and chance resolutions and graphic settings for all chars.

On the main pc i would like to have icon-sidebar, gui settings an browser bookmarks identical for every chars.
ATM i have to guess and try out, what is in the profile (where). An article could help.

Big smileGreat new Launcher. However, why does it seem to default to a "new profile" each time it is opened. I couldn't figure out why I kept loosing my in-game widow settings until I noticed that it is defaulting to the "new profile" radio button instead of the saved profile.

This evening my launcher prompted me to update it. It had a 30 second countdown after which it would update automatically, but I clicked OK so I didn't have to wait... Nothing happened. 30 seconds later the countdown moved into negative numbers and simply kept going.

I hit cancel and closed/opened the launcher again and now it's working fine, but this was a really weird bug so I thought I'd mention it.

After first starting the launcher today I was prompter to update the launcher after a bried download. Selecting OK, CANCEL or waiting the 30 seconds does not matter as update.exe still launches but does not seem to do anything. Starting the launcher restarts the process.

I can still play the game by using exefile.exe or selecting CANCEL and launching clients before the launcher shuts down after a moment and before update.exe starts.

Also, the function to move resource cache in the launcher erases current settings and was able to reproduce this.
