Seeking lowsec ded site advice

Currently my mainstay is to run wh sites and/or roam for a good fight when a fleet is available. But I tend to hop on at odd times for an hour or 2 and decided that lowsec ded complexes would be fun to explore when the alliance activity is more quiet and I find myself a lone wolf.

My goal: fit a proteus (preference for fun not efficiency) for cloaky lowsec ded site hunting. I'd like to throw a codebreaker on there for the odd radar as they come. I'm confident in the dps output of a few fits I've played with in EFT, but I need advice about tank needed.

Ideally, I'd like to be ready to solo 6/10's for profit and possible cruiser a type loot I can use.

*drumroll*

So what kind of numbers should I be ready to tank for up to 6/10 ded complexes in low sec in a proteus?

Thank you in advance for any relevant replies not related to "why proteus?"

It depends on the area of space. Which faction 6/10 ded sites are you planning on running?

Blood Raiders ?
Guristas ?
Sansha ?

Each has it's own amount of dps you'll need to tank.

I've completed the 6/10 guristas site multiple times with a 700dps guristas tank Drake.
The proteus would need to tank much less due to the fact that it's sig. rad. is much smaller than that of the Drake and it also has a much higher velocity so...

...that's my input anyway
take it or leave it o/

Thanks for the reply Sir,

I live in a wh, so my region will be changing. I realize resists will need adjusting accordingly, but want to know about a general active tank number for a cruiser size hull. Do you think the 4-500 range is acceptable for a smaller than Drake hull?

For 6/10s, yes, 500dps tank will suffice.
Those sites are fairly easy.
You probably already know this, but make sure to first destroy the Cruiser/BC size rats to negate most of the incoming damage.

I can just tell you that you will nto be able to finish blood 6/10 in a drake with 2 BCU (around 400dps?), since overseer will repair more then that. You will be able to tank all though.

In the process of building a Proteus myself for the same reason.

Being a w space dweller I can see you having an issue or 2 perhaps. First would be changing regions each day. While it's easy to make safe spots in any new system it's the insta-warps from stations that are tough to do. Think about scanning the area with a cov-ops and carrying some spare speed mods to make your insta's then coming back in the proteus.

Why the insta warps from station. To date I'm liking the Proteus alot for it's tank and dps but with the covert sub on it's far from being a face melter. Fine for running mags and radars but 5 and 6-10's need solid consistent dps to get them done in a reasonable amount of time, otherwise you're risking getting scanned down.

Swap from your Helios to the Proteus with the covert sub. Fly to your destination then swap out the covert sub for one of the higher dps dealers. Swap back when you've scooped the loot and fly back home for the win.
