Actually, there's fairly conclusive evidence that the Neanderthals interbred with Sapiens. Look up the Basques.

As far as race? Caucasoids, Negroids and Mongoloids come to mind the Brutor in the thread can look those up (he seemed to have a slight mix-up) .
