I disagree. Battleships used to all have huge drone bays and they would curbstomp every small ship they came across. Frigates were basically useless against battleships, which is antithetical to the purpose of having frigates in the game. Battleships are not meant to be a solopwnmobile. If you want lots of little drones to protect your battleship from pesky frigates, then choose a battleship with a big drone bay, and that choice should come with sacrifices. There is absolutely no need to have the old Megathron with its full weapon layout plus Dominix drone bay. Either pick drones, pick weapons, or fly a mix-n-match ship like the Hyperion or Armageddon.

No one said dominix sized drone bay. But I think ALl battleships should have their Bandwidth + 25 meters for drone bay. It is ridiculous that you cannot find space for that on a raven for example when some frigates can carry those drones. It is just a matter or suspension of disbelief for me. I do not need drones to deal with frigates, the battleship way to deal with them are neuts, if you rely on drones you will die anyway since any decent frigate pilot can kill 5 unbonused small drones before he dies.

On the EHP, for the ones sckeptical, the problem is not ONLY the t3 . They are the greatest offenders, but we have close contenders. FOr example navy BC have same EHP as a t1 battleships (both unfitted and excluding the abaddon).

Just ask yourself, why navy battleships are used so much more than common battleships? Exactly because they have enough EHP to cross the threshold where it becomes relevant. It is not a matter of just being elite on your fleet comp. THe miserable extra EHP of T1 battleships is not enough to compensate their larger signature and means they cannot cross the threshold of survivability to become a staying power. If they could, you would surely see more T1 battleship fleets to take advantage of the platinum insurance capability.

On the plates.. my personal view that I already presented the whole year.. ccp lost a great chance in tiercide to balance the whole subcapitals without need of fancy things. They just needed to increase the PG requirements, mass AND HP bonus of all plates by 75%. The result would be... T3 woudl not be able to use 1600 plates, they woudl use 800mm (That woudl sit exactly between current 800mm and current 1600), some would need to go down to 400mm. BC would use 800mm plates and gain extra EHP or be able to go 1600mm with some suffering on the fittings. Battleships would just laugh at the increased PG and mass changes (nearly irrelevant to their scale) but would rejoice on the extra EHP. The T3 EHP nerf and the Battleship EHP boost done on a single swoop. Do somethign alike for shields...
