Hi,

Yesterday I started up EVE, everything was fine with the launcher until I actually clicked launch. Then my computer froze. No error message, BSOD, nothing. Obviously I tried again and it happened again, so someone suggested trying the beta launcher, which worked fine yesterday.
Today, I can't even run the beta launcher, same problem, whenever I start the beta launcher, the computer just freezes. The only thing I can do is hard reset it.

Any suggestions?

mmh, nothing sure but
clean you cache : if you know where the setting folders are, for the beta launcher you must have been there, in the folders there is a "cache" folder, simply delete it

run a fix to check game date ; from beta launcher open the settings, go to sharedcache and clic verify

in your windows document folder, there is a "eve" folder, just rename it (you may want to keep it) but it will make a fresh space for eve to store junk

if all that fails, then maybe it's a connectivity issue (there are cases since 2 weeks) where you are using internet and your ISP route you to CCP through a faulty internet route.... not really fixable

But whatever the case if you check your cache, fix your client and it does not work, open a support ticket, they are there for that.

I developed this problem after upgrading to Win10.

The issue didn't start for a couple of weeks though.

It only seemed to affect EVE.

I reinstalled Win 7 and the issue seems to have been resolved.

the only things that can happen after a win10 upgrade :

loss of permission in some programdata and programfiles folder... bummer, that's where eve is, some acl reset/take ownership (or the new fixsecurity.exe ccp release with beta launcher may fix that), running as administrator may help too

and firewall setting.

but this is not usually portrayed by the symptoms OP described.

I'm not privy to the support knowledge base but for win10 post upgrade issues, try running as admin, try changing launcher (using beta, and all it's new tweak/tools may help)
ultimately, open a support ticket. that's the way to roll

but back to OP problem and freezes... simply delete the beta launcher and reinstall it. did you try the "dev settings" in the ... settings? that could wreck a lot of stuff and should not be used.
