The end of grid manipulation

Just reading through the next patch notes and noticed this;

Grid boxes have been increased in size from 250km to 7800km.

And so ends the occasionally used exploit of altering the grid at gates so bombing runs while remaining unseen decloaked is no longer an option.

Was it ever an exploit?

Only if you don't understand what an exploit is.

Where does it say grids can't be expanded or shrunken?

Grids mostly never were 250km anyway.
Some were bigger, some were smaller.

Just wait until people push them over ninethousand!

Exploit.

This is why we have lots of words in our vocabulary, as well as the concept of paragraphs (comprised of sets of sentences). You see, no matter how clever you may think you are, eventually subjects arise that cannot be clearly, and concisely discussed (as in know wtf you're talking about) unless you employ one, or all of these features of your language. (Which were, by the way, developed for a purpose other than to waste your ever-lovin' all-important time.)

Just sayin'. Cool

There just isn't anything that can be said!

I had a sudden eureka moment (and I was in the bath), is this the first step towards the often discussed changes to use of command links?....make the command ship leave the POS and be on grid to give bonuses is often a subject of debate...now with a massive grid I feel that it is an incoming (and welcome to me) change.

This would fit with my tiericide v2 with weapon diversification. 500+ km sniping please. If any part of beauty, it would be to enlarge battlefields. Reduce GPU load and make combat more visually appealing.

This combined w the new command destroyers ability to use links (small gang link option anyone?)
The implementation of brain in a box, the changes to capitals regarding their purpose as fleet boosters,
And the fact that Ccp have stated clearly in the past that they want to get rid of off grid links but it was contingent on the implementation of previously mentioned brain in a box... I'd say its pretty likely AND welcome. I certainly look forward to it.

Very similar to their release of missile guidance comps that served very little purpose in the current meta as a prequel to the now immenent release of missile disruption modules.
