Is there an easier way to move the scan bubbles?

The problem I'm having is that when I go to click on the square anchor or the arrows to move the scan bubbles, it becomes incredibly hard to move them if there is anything on the map nearby (i.e. a planet, asteroid belt, etc). The game seems to prioritize the map objects over the scan bubble anchors.

I could hide everything on the map, but this map also shares settings with the d-scan map, and having objects on the map appear is highly useful.

So am I missing some way to easily move the scan bubbles or is this just a huge PITA?

Yep it's pretty bad atm. The good news is the developers are aware of that problem and are working on it (the map is new so it's still a work in progress).

You may find it easier to use the old map. You can reactivate it by pressing escape and unchecking "try the new map" and "try the new dscan" in the general settings.

This is not a 100% fix but you can make a overview tab for scanning. It's been a while since I've messed with that but I seem to recall it helping to some degree.

try to avoid placing your probes directly over planets. and/or be careful where you click. yea the planet thing can be annoying but you can usually grab at least some corner of the box to move it and not be on the planet. Or just grab one of the arrows and drag it away.

On the top bar of the map window, there's an icon, that opens a menu where you can `remove` certain things. Hide things you don't really need, such as moons, the sun (its always in the middlle), only have things on there you need. For me, planets and bookmark are really the only thing i need on there.

Especially the probes themselves can be in the way. Hide it, and you'll find it'll be much easier to move your probes Big smile

I use the old probe scanner, but the new d-scan window, so I can move probes easier with the old system, but still take advantage of keybinding d-scan.

While this works fine with 360 scans, keep in mind they aren't intended to work together, so your d-scan won't function properly in the map view unless you use the old dscan with the old map or the new dscan with the new map.

I actually keep both the old and new d-scan windows open and tab over to the old one when tracking down POSes/ships/anything for less than a 360 degree scan.

I know they never intended for people to have both open, but I'm taking advantage of it as long as I can. I have to open the settings menu to bring up the new d-scan every time I dock, but I only dock up once/twice per month right now, so for me it's not too big of a deal. I'm hoping the new probe scanning improves by the time they change it so I can't do what I am doing right now.
