That is considered an exploit, just so you know, doubly so when you're recycling alts.

While I approve of your methods, Pots and Kettles, man. Your interdiction guide recommends clearing the belts in the same manner the miners "clear" concord from elsewhere to be in the belt.

So long as they don't recycle alts, seems to me like you just need to go alpha against a determined concord baiter.

We use our ganker characters to clear CONCORD, not alts.

Nobody has noticed that he is being killed by frigates, not destroyers or gank fitted bcs?

Im guessing that someone wardecced him and is just killing him repeatedly.

Traditionally, iD Software has usually pronounced it 'jibs' (like in 'giblets'), the idea being that your attack turned your opponent into flying bits of meat.

That said, I've also heard it pronounced with a hard 'g' (like in 'Gibbs'), which -- when you consider Gibbs' talent with a rifle, makes a strange sort of sense. Smile

I apologize to the Goons for this, but I just had to test it.

Last night (Eastern US about 9PM), I tried out Ice mining in a Ret in Gallente space.
First I want to say it is a waste of time mining in a Ret for ice. So. Slow. I could barely do it for the 2 hours I did. I now believe whomever is ganking the OP is doing them a favor.

Second, not once did I get successfully ganked. Three attempts, and all were within the last 30 minutes I was mining. The system wasn't even that empty... though not many miners which was creepy (I've never seen an empty HS ice belt before).

So yeah, I did the same thing as the OP, and had not a single loss in 2 hours (as he suggested). And you know what the plus is of surviving the gank attempt when it is one person? You have 10 minutes of piece and quiet while they wait out their timer.

Now I have the urge to assist the Goons in their ice interdiction. Must atone for my painful (ie mind numbing) sin of mining Gallente ice in a bloody Retriever!X

That is a fair distinction, but who's to say the miners aren't just using their terrible-at-it ganker characters to summon CONCORD.

I guess I worded it wrong, but yeah, crying about unfairness in EVE Online, a game centered in a hyper-capitalistic dog-eat-dog universe, is silly.

No, i'm not crying about general unfairness in all of eve. I am commenting on a very specific situation that defies logic.

Follow me here.

I get the fact that eve is not a carebear game. I do. I am not crying about being blown up. It happens. I am not complaining about the fact that people can suicide gank. If someone wrongs you bad enough you should be able to suicide gank, with a real consequence.

My argument simply is that someone with a -10 rating should not be allowed to kill the same person over and over again in the same spot in high sec.

Yes, I get it. The very nature of eve dictates that you're never truly safe anywhere, and I appreciate the heart pounding moments that can bring to the game. I am not against suicide ganking.

I am against a player with a -10 security rating killing the same people in the same spot over and over again in high sec without any penalty other than losing a ship with almost no value.

I think its a pretty narrow and reasonable complaint.

Well to be perfectly honest, the few Goons that are ganking in highsec have logistic problems managing all those ice fields. If you go out and mine in an empty belt, it will take them a couple hours to get thngs setup, then they will finally attempt to kill ya....although a retriever is not a great target to begin with....Try again with a Mac, they'll get to you :)

We don't have logistical problems. We simply can't cover every single belt in the Interdiction Zone 23/7.

Oh hey look at this...proof that the poor miners aren't completely defenseless against the big bad goonies. The only miners crying about the interdiction are those who feel entitled to mine afk.
