Limited Bandwith - Moving the client from one machine to another.

As i won't have a internet connection for a few months, i'm forced to use mobile Internet with 500MB/Day.

I would like to play Eve at least now and then and downloaded the most recent client at university, to transfer it to my actual pc later the day at home. Something that was easily archivable before eve onlines wonderful stream-enabled client.

That's what i've tried so far:

* Installing the launcher on machine A
* Moving Launcher, Binaries as well as the shared cache from machine B to their corresponding directories on Machine A
* Repair
* Validate Cache Files

But i can't for the life of me convince eve online to accept the manually transfered shared cache files. It always wants to download them anew for the specific installation on machine A. Which would cost me roughly 80 USD.

Any help and sugestions much appriciated.

launcher should ask you the location of shared cache the first time u run it .. u can double check it in the settings somewhere

are u using the old launcher or the beta launcher ?

I've using the original launcher - the one shipping with the installer.

I've made sure that the launcher knows the correct path to the shared cache files. If i run the cache validator from the launcher directory, it even shows the correct path but skips all files.

This starts eve, which then on-demand downloads further files. As i stated, completly ignores the 13gb shared cache. I'm still fiddling around.

Still, Thanks for the suggestions.

in that order ? ..
tryed reinstalling the launcher ?

been using new launcher myself since it came out, before that i used exefile and on patch-days i did run the old launcher .. after couple weeks with new launcher i deleted the old one just reinstalled it and downloaded 70mb of data .. no info if its launcher or client, but my client is uptodate with the new launcher .. so prolly the launcher data ..

kinda will be in a similar situation soon .. but with a little more bandwidth room to dl eve, so will keep eye how u get this fixed in-case something happens with my setup :|

Worked it out, still a few thousand files missing but i'm somewhat fine bandwith-wise. I fiddled around with the folder structure and it seems to accept most of the shared cache by now. Also worked fine via the executable. Thanks.

Well, or it didn't. I'm fine on station but as soon as i log out it starts to download left and right. Planet textures, station textures, ship textures. Completly discarding everything in the cache.

No eve for me i guess.
