The EVE Launcher has left its beta stage. Please continue feedback and discussions here.

Thank you for all your feedback, assistance and support so far!

On November 25th we have deployed an update to the beta launcher. If you haven't heard about this new EVE Launcher before, please check out the dev blog.

If you have already installed the beta launcher it should update itself automatically - otherwise you can install the latest version:
* Windows (https://binaries.eveonline.com/EveLauncher-984818.exe)
* Mac (https://binaries.eveonline.com/EveLauncher-984818.dmg)

The update has the following changes, fixes and additions:
- Better handling of file errors, offering to fix permissions
- Added network diagnostics to help track down network issues
- Added support for translations (text is not fully translated yet)
- Added an option to minimize to tray
- Prevent multiple instances of the launcher
- Added an option to force the client to use DX9
- Improved the logging window
- Server list and process views are now a standalone windows
- Settings folders for clients no longer have the server ip numbers in their name
- Fixed issue with download everything stalling

Changes to the UI include:
- New design
- Server status information updates more frequently
- MOTD icon button and notifications moved to upper right corner
- Added patch notes link
- Rearranged buttons based on user feedback
- EULA buttons no longer disappear under ads

We welcome you to check out this new beta EVE Launcher and let us know what you think!

Known issues:
- Pasting into the password field doesn't work on the Mac

Lost your settings? This update for the BETA Launcher should have renamed the folder containing client settings. If this did not happen, your settings may have been left behind, and does not display in the migration tool.

The following information should help in recovering these settings.

For Windows users (7 and up):

* Hit the Windows key + R (or hit the start menu and type "run")
* Type "%localappdata%/ccp/eve"
* Open the folder that ends with "..._tq_87.237.38.200" (ex. c_ccp_eve_sharedcache_tq_87.237.38.200)
* Copy any "settings_" folders
* Return to the parent folder and enter the folder that replaced the IP address with _tranquility (ex. c_ccp_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility)
* Paste the "settings_" folders here
* Restart launcher

Just saw the update come in as I opened the launcher, very nice.

Perhaps make the background image a bit darker to create more contrast between it and the account selection and banner ads?

2 items

1) Norton yanked it for high disk activity
2) Uses way too much screen real estate. Could easily be half the size.

Is it possible to white-list the launcher in the Norton application? We have already contacted Norton about white-listing the launcher, but that may only have worked for that particular version of the launcher.

A few things came to mind:

- you have so much space, yet the central panel and especially the buttons are so small, the checkboxes in the older version where much better than those switches, same goes for the "launch triangle". its just too small on a highres monitor.

- it'd be far more convenient to plug the "Logout" button within the "launchbox" on the bottom right side and put the "add account" button in the middle or bottom left side.

- while the green bar is nice, make it bigger, i barely noticed it. yet you could also put a green "running" in the line of the respective running client. again, more than half of the space in the window is wasted.

- furthermore, maybe plug the ad-banners on top and move the newsfeed to the bottom (left, middle) as it overlaps with the "bug report" button on its current position.

- for future patches: please please please backup the current userprofile settings, i had to reimport old ones from 2 month ago :(

- a (more visible?) option for clearing the client cache would be great,as its currently implemented in the regular launcher

thanks for working on it, i like it way more than the regular launcher!

i would think put the MOTD button in the new sidebar left and not next to the close button would be better or even move it to the same Position and type as Feedback and Bug Report is

we have to import client settings again from our old user ordner ( in my case some junktion link ordner for multiple clients) because we cant divide the collected settings from old beta launcher ordner to all Clients
sometime i would like to see the launcher do this without human help

1. Can we now install the launcher in an ordnerstructure like F:\Eve & Co\Launcher next to our Eve installation in F:\Eve & Co\Eve Online (and shared Cache and Tools)

2. Can we pls move settings ordner from user to an place we like? (like my Structure above)

3. I dont know who think a touch GUI is allways better^^ but i DONT like the new "Switches" to show witch client is selceted for multistart or even not.
I think just checkboxes was realy fine for this and show all we needet (yea maybee oldscool design but it work well and who Play Eve on a Touchscreen?)

4. BUT i would like to see maybee 4 little checkboxes there in a square to set up multiple "Play selected" configurations
same checkbox next to the Play Selected button could switch between the choosen one there

5.Mousover of Settings wheel could bring up the Information witch Profile is selected without have to click to see it.
i understand there is not enough space to show profilename there (i would preferr)

6.last one: whats the function of the launcher butten in sidebar ?

This please! Is there a way to get at the ones I was using in my previous version of the Beta Launcher?

Is there are reason you guys don't copy previous Beta-launcher settings before you do the update and then re-import them automatically?

Worked, thanks!

Maybe they didn't copy over correctly because I had clients running when the update happened or something?

I really like this for the most part, it's pretty visually pleasing. However there are just a couple of things that are pretty visually jarring.

I love the background image. Very dynamic and action-y, but having my account selection right suddenly 'appear' right in the middle of the Rifter while your eyes sweep the image is kinda sudden. Any chance for some transparency on the account list or some other way to smooth that?

And while I understand the need to sell stuff to people who are already your customers, Blink the two current advertisements, the Amarr "Veil of Victory" and the "Preparation is Half the Victory" are really such a stark contrast. It gives the impression of someone slapping some stickers onto a screen.

I'm no design guy, but a suggestion is to make the launcher like a view screen or status display. The adds can be integrated into little windows resembling mini or status displays, and some sort of smoothing or new font or such on the account list to better enjoy that awesome view. The links on the left for Account, Support, Settings, and Patch Notes could be styled into 'activation buttons' of some sort

Major kudos for the patch notes link as well. I always hit that when I noticed my client was pulling an update.

I hope this feedback is useful.

Thank you.

Are these changes (moving settings folders) likely to persist after the next launcher update, or will this process need to be repeated?

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

Suggestion / feature request:

- possible to have an 'autolaunch' checkbox? So we don't need to wait for it to finish patching or whatever just tick the box and then once the client is 'ready' it will launch itself?

_ I tried real-life once.  The graphics suck._
