No I wouldn't keep playing. Too much time and money invested, and if it happened once....

I got a permaban handed to me for sharing my account with my cousin back in the day. 90 mil SP down the drain

However, I started from scratch and here I still am. But it was not fun D:

I would, 100%. There's no other hobby like eve anyways.

Yes, I would. And I dont want to pay extra for the skins. Or I pay the skins and I get to play the game for free, either way.

And ccp should force player to use one character to eliminate scams and spies.

I am only here still due to the excessive amount of time and effort I put in, so if they lost 13 years worth of Xtreem I would leave, 1. if they lost it once they could do it again so and 2. as above I am not spending 13 years to get where I am today again :)

But what if they develop a complete different skills system as we use now? will you still stay?

without details of this change I could not say for sure, but I would suspect I would still leave.

YES, and what a ... question to ask! If you'd let a little thing like that come between you and our beloved sandbox, you should really spend more time playing SWTOR! The idea of bailing on EVE because of a techno-disaster! Where's your loyalty? Where's your pioneering spirit! Never desert your friends in their hour of need!

And, don't take no wooden nickels!!

Cool

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Well, to be fair, if it was a legitimate loss of data from disaster, such as a massive fire and something else that destroyed everything, if CCP was going to reboot, I would play again. I would hope there was some sort of incentive to players coming back, but I would play still if CCP was doing what I consider due dilligence in terms of backup.

I would, hell if they included capital ships in that mysterious wipe, I'd even pay for it.

If something happened that could cause a complete meltdown of the servers in London whilst simultaneously frying any back-ups of the character data, which in turn DOESN'T happen to be the beginning of the end of everything as we know it, I wouldn't look to myself to begin with...

Rather, I'd look first to see whether the people I've flown with have the heart to start again, because quite frankly I would've given up ages ago if all I did was solitary mining/mission running with all chat channels closed down. As it is, I've talked and flown with quite a few people from around the world, with many laughs being had along the way. Without that, New Eden would be very bleak indeed.

I wouldnt. Markus Reese is a long developed character with which the history and time earned development is a very retaining feature. I doubt I could enjoy eve even remotely as much.

Agreed.

I wouldn't spend another +7 years just to get back up to where my character is now.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Secret "Restart the game" thread.

This comes up really frequently and no, I would stop playing.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Markus Reese has become a persona both in eve and kind of a norm for most things vid game now. I wouldn't be able to ever give that up. I would have to be "Markus Reese"

Yes, I would. Sometimes I play trial accounts just for the "fresh character" feel.
If it was lost I 'd reroll Minny and see what all the fuss is about the Machariel. These days my queue is too busy with month long skillbooks.

No. The loss of my corpse collection would be too great to bear.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

What the hell else would I do with my PLEX horde? On top of that everyone is still in their same alliances, have the same friendships and everyone suffered the same penalty.

I would totally keep playing. Anyone who didn't just proves they're SP whores and should probably have left long ago,, anyway.
