He should buy his wife the biggest bouquet of flowers he can find in Reykjavik and send the bill to CCP. Lol

IIRC people in Iceland get each other rock bouquets.

Thank you for you kind thoughts during a hard sleepless time Smile

Most services are now back online.

We just had a major storage outage in our centralized storage infrastructure. We had IBM storage specialists on the phone with in minutes and within the hour he was down at CCP HQ helping us out getting things back online. We opened up a case with IBM supplying them with logs for analyzes and debugging as well getting our support engineers at the data center to help out with getting things back online.

Once we were back online with the storage system we had to get the databases back online and few disks in a bad state and needed to be rebuild and fixed. We then had a fallout of services not liking loosing the database and had to give them a good kick.

We had a few developers called out to help debug what was happening and they woke up gladly to help out, even the one that had a birthday day before and his wife answered the phone at 4:00 AM Lol

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

We are also working hard these days on getting the TQ tech III hardware up and running. It will be fun time ahead for the next few months while we work on getting that up and running.

Thank you for your kind words and patience. This is the best gaming community Big smile

I opened this post expecting sarcasm. I was pleasantly surprised.

As hard as it is to believe sometimes, when it comes to real life issues, the EVE community is easily the most mature and understanding gaming sect that I have ever dealt with. Probably why I've been here for almost 10 years, and generally have 3-5 accounts subbed even if I barely play anymore.

I don't know if some internal memo has gone out to get you guys at CCP posting on the forums more but it is really a great thing to see, and it absolutely fills me with confidence for eves future. Bravo.

Players love to see that their thoughts have a chance of being seen by game Devs and at the same time people love to get status updates right from the horses mouth as it were. CCP Major Gormur's post on the server status is a perfect example of what I mean, posts like that really relieve frustrations that players might have. Sometimes it is good for us to just hear that you're doing your best under tough circumstances.

Remember fellow forum dwellers CCP are human like the rest of us, we should be encouraging them to do their best and make eve great instead of berating them constantly amongst ourselves and when they post. Changes are scary and they bring uncertainty but if we have a good dialogue with the game's developers these uncertainties can be cleared up and we can get an insight into the vision behind the changes.

This post brought to you by CCP's alpha forum alt initiative. Playing the eve forums has never come cheaper.
