Indie game development

I think I have a pretty good concept for an Indie game. But the thing is, I've never learned programming and have no idea how game development works.

I know there's a lot of computer-smart people here, and was wondering if I could get any tips on how I can get a game developed, if I have no knowledge of programming?

I think it's a good game concept, and later I will try to get investors to fund the development, and also start crowdfunding if I cannot get enough private investors - but I have no knowledge of programming, and no in-depth knowledge about the game development process.

As I understand - it's kind of like a construction company. You hire electricians, plumbers, carpenters, dry wall installers, and they all come together to finish a building.

But how do I prevent other people from just taking the idea and developing it on their own after I tell them about the game concept? Do NDA's actually work here, or are they just a formality and useless in practice (as in it usually costs more to enforce it).

And also what would be the first step?

Thanks.
