Greetings Champions and Retainers of the Great Royal Houses of Amarr!

All six Royal Houses have now chosen their champions and we are beginning the phase of the tournament that will decide which Heir becomes the next Emperor or Empress of the Amarr.

This post will list the rules for the second round of the Amarr Championships, taking place on Saturday November 14th and Sunday November 15th, 2015.

First, make sure you’ve read this dev blog, which lists the schedule as well as the common rules that will be used for all matches. The rules below constrain what ships can be flown in each match on the first day, but the rest of the rules must also be followed as well. In cases where the special rules for this weekend and the general rules contradict each other, the special rules take precedence.

First, there is one set of special module and drone restrictions for this weekend’s matches:

  • ECM modules (including Racial ECM, Multispectral ECM, and ECM Bursts) and ECM drones are banned this weekend. All other electronic warfare will follow the general tournament rules.

  • Teams found to have equipped or used ECM during this weekend will automatically lose that match, even if it is discovered after the match completed.

    Banning:
This phase of the tournament includes quite a lot of ship banning.
Each ban targets a specific ship type and not a ship class or other hull. For example, banning the Punisher would not exclude the Retribution or frigates in general.

There will be two forms of ship banning this weekend:

    Round-wide Bans:
Each team may choose one ship type to ban for the entirety of the round-robin phase. These bans apply to all teams across all matches this weekend, no matter what teams are involved. These bans will be submitted via secret evemail to CCP Logibro. Teams are not required to participate in this set of bans if they wish to abstain. If multiple teams select the same ship for their round-wide bans, they will not be given an opportunity to ban another ship.

The round-wide bans must be submitted by the team Champions via EVEMail to CCP Logibro by 12:00 (noon) EVETime on Saturday November 14th for their bans to be eligible. The list of ships banned from the entire round will be published to the public at 13:00 EVETime on Saturday November 14th.

    Match-specific Bans:
Each match within the round-robin phase will also have their own banning process, which will work in the same fashion as banning in the Alliance Tournament.

Team captains must be online and available to conduct ship bans 45 minutes before the start of each match. At 44 minutes before each match if the captain is unavailable their team’s match-specific bans are forfeit.

Each team gets two match-specific bans.

The way the match-specific banning phase works is as follows:

The team which starts the banning phase is decided randomly.

All ships that are eligible for competition are eligible for banning.

Match-specific bans are done in 1 – 2 – 1 order. For example Team A will take the first ban, Team B will take the second and third ban, and Team A will finish the banning phase with the fourth ban.

Each ban has a time limit of one minute; if no ship is selected within that timeframe the ban is forfeit.

Once the bans start, a drop down menu will appear where you select the ship to ban. You can type the name of the ship to speed up the process.

Please be aware that banning a ship will not remove it from the list. Selecting the same ship type twice is a wasted ban.
All match-specific bans apply to both teams equally.

Combined, this means that up to 10 ships will be banned for each specific match so we encourage teams to have multiple ship setups available as bans may impact your primary team setup. No additional time will be given if teams do not have eligible ships available.

    Ship Choices:
Once the banning has completed, teams must construct a setup with the following pattern:
  • Pilot #1 flies a Battleship (Amarr T1 or Faction) or Battlecruiser (Amarr T1, T2 or Faction)
  • Pilot #2 flies a Battlecruiser (Amarr T1, T2 or Faction) or Cruiser (Amarr T1, T2, T3 or Faction)
  • Pilot #3 flies a Cruiser (Amarr T1, T2, T3 or Faction) or Destroyer (Amarr T1, T2, T3)
  • Pilot #4 flies a Destroyer (Amarr T1, T2, T3) or Frigate (Amarr T1, T2 or Faction)

  • No specific ship may be flown by more than one team member in any given match (so for example if Pilot #1 is flying an Absolution, Pilot #2 may not also fly the same ship).

No more than one logistics ship of any kind may be used.

There are no specific requirements for which characters take which slot within the team.

    Match Schedule:
The matches this weekend will take place in the following order:
    Saturday, November 14th
    Match # Time
    Match 19 15:00 Kador v Khanid
    Match 20 15:20 Ardishapur v Tash-Murkon

If you have any questions about these rules feel free to ask them in this thread.
Amarr Victor and may God smile upon its noble champions!

Has the bug with the Magnate been fixed? Did you check if any other Amarr ships could suffer from the same, or similar, bugs?

Yup it's been fixed and we did a check over the rest of the list to make sure everything is represented.

We're looking at (in a race base tournament with a limited pool of, I think, 19 ship types) a potential of TEN!!!! ship bans per match (6 global and 4 match specific).

    Is this really intended?

Yup, as stated in the paragraph:

It's technically possible for Pilot #1 to be forced into one specific ship, although that's very unlikely in practice.

To confirm: "(Amarr T1, T2 or Faction)" means Amarr faction, ie: Augoror Navy Issue, as opposed to say Bhaalgorn or Rattlesnake, yes?

Again to clarify: Does this mean only one ship can fit remote-assistance modules, or that there can only be one Logistics/Support Cruiser/Logi Frigate

ie: if a team fields an Augoror and an Armageddon, the Geddon can't also carry remote armor reppers.
also, no Guardian + Legion with Adaptive Augmenter subsystem?

On a related note: will it be the presence of bonuses, or RR modules that determines if a ship is considered 'logistics'? The subsystem that gives the Legion its RR bonuses also gives it its armor resists, after all. Or could a team field a Guardian and an Augoror as long as only one of them is carrying remote assistance modules?

Can ships other than the designated 'logi' carry logistics drones?

I recommend reading the general Championship rules at: http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/amarr-championships-rules-and-schedule/
    Quote:
All Remote Armor Repair modules and Remote Shield Transfer modules are NOT allowed, EXCEPT on ONE of: a Logistics Ship, a Tech 1 Support Cruiser, or a Tech 1 Support Frigate.
Remote repair and shield transfer modules may NOT be fit to Strategic Cruisers

You can not bring more than one of the following ships in each match: Guardian, Augoror, Inquisitor
Those three ships are the only ones that can fit remote repair modules in this weekend's matches.

Any ships may bring logistics drones.

    Well.
With 10 bans out of 19 ships and only 2h before the start of the first match, and the fact that we need to be ready ~1h before, it's more of an speed-EFT & market manipulation tournament than a PVP one. Blink

I'll honestly be surprised to see a full 10 bans. I'm sure there will be multiple same ship bans for the Round wide bans.

P1: Any T1 BS or BC
    P2: Any BC or Cruiser
    P3: Any Cruiser or Destroyer
    P4: Any Destroyer or Frigate

That means 1 potential battleships, 2 potential battle cruisers, 2 potential cruisers, 2 potential destroyers and 1 potential frigate.

You could have a setup such as: 1 Navy Harb, 1 Prophecy, 1 Guardian and 1 Confessor, for example.
