From the sounds of things I would guess that it really is just a corrupt install, possibly you are hitting a "soft" data cap or your isp is data caching and their cache is corrupt. Possibilities also include another program (possibly a virus) corrupting data as you download it. This might require multiple runs of the repair tool to resolve, or trying the downloads from someone elses internet. Again, this seems more like data corruption from something other than the harddrive, especially because it happened on a new HD

I have yet to hear of a virus that hurts us linux users :)

On the windows side, definitely possible, but Im very careful with that, its what i do for a living.

Ubuntu Mate 16.04.2 64bit // Amd A8-5600K with RX460 4GB // 6GB DDR3 // Sandisk 120GB SSD Plus // Wine Stable 2.01 // Native Linux Launcher // TS3 working // Happy to be back in Ubuntu :)
