There was a sound outside just now, I have no idea what it was.

So some associates of mine and I were mining just outside of Eranakko, they warped out since their cargo was at capacity. I stayed behind to double-check, my Venture (We decided to travel very light in case we needed to get out quickly) shook violently and stopped, power died and I was left stranded for almost an hour. During which time I was frantically working to restore the energy cells, which were quickly freezing over. Luckily the air supply lasted and I was able to still breath, but after about 40 minutes I heard some weird wailing outside. Not the kind of wailing you hear on holotapes of old animals like those from the oceans, but some strange noise that I could only compare to the squelching of radio waves, but much.."Denser" I guess? Not only that, but it felt like something was watching me, I kept looking out of the cockpit and saw only stars.

Anyway, Long story short, after an hour had passed, I kicked over the power relay and the core turned over (Thank god, I was freezing!) but the sound didn't leave, in fact it got much worse the moment my ship came back to life. I struggled as quickly as I could to warp out, I made it safely but I still can't figure out what that noise was. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Were you not in your pod? All sounds from the black are simulated by your pod. If you heard something, it was from the ship itself. Also, why the hell were you in a Venture that you could control without a pod? If CODE decides to gank you, you're not coming back.

I must have imagined it then, now that I think about it, but no, I wasn't in my pod. I suppose there might've just been some side effects.. I can't be sure.

Emergency jack-out from the pod in space may cause side effects to operator's mind. That's the only guess, 'cause you should be really disconcerted to forget that there's NO sound outside your ship.

Some medical checkup is strongly recommended.

One, don't fly outside your pod. Two, lay off the drugs.

I mean, seriously. Have you not seen all those horror reels that begin with some idiot pilot taking off all their gear and equipment? Not to mention your ship is so much slower. Really. Is that what the kids are into, these days? In my day, new capsuleers got their rocks off with violent missions and giant orgies. But hey, I guess it is what it is. Fit your ship, fly in your pod, don't be daft.

TL;DR: Stop being bad.

Never not badpost.

I am sure there's a bug in your Neocom's auditory simulation software. Troubleshoot and debug it, or reinstall a fresh copy.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I feel it should be stated that i'm new to this region, and in our old systems we didn't have to worry about pirates, murderers, or these "Drifters." The only thing we had to worry about was your ship breaking down and your comms going with it. So yes, I left my pod to do some quick maintenance. The intercom was modified to act as a sort of "Sonar" so I could pick up any Ice glaciers as well (You would be SHOCKED as to how well this works). The noise may have been just a bug, but I can't be sure. But I don't do drugs, Drink? Yes, but no drugs.

Also thank you, I'll get my Neocom looked at

Where the hell did you find a frigate with a pod gantry and decanting system? I mean, my pod barely fits in a frigate.

Never not badpost.

Dunno how about you, but every frigate I fly has enough room to stroll, look around at the stars, planets and/or POS, to have a cup of tea while listening to some ambient stuff, and maybe even some basic zero-g sports equipment.

Only when I'm waiting on insurance from my cruisers to pay off.

And room for a pod gantry? Because last I checked, no frigate comes with a way to get out of your pod in-ship.

Ahh.... I miss those days, when it wasn't as common to fly frigates. Made going out in them somewhat special. Then again I really don't like things bigger than a destroyer all that much. Ugh, now I gotta figure out a reason to get a electronic attack frigate, just finished learning how to use them and now my reason to semi dried up.

Me going out solo tends to lead to me losing ships, so that's why I like my frigates.

The unfortunate reality of going solo: You lose a crapton of ships.

Though there are some dudes who are able to at least score enough kills to make up for the cost of losing their ships about twice over. I aim to be one of these people.

As you can guess, it's not going well.

With me I think it's more so I don't know what I gravitate towards aside from being in a fleet and the roles I play in them, I want to get better at solo just to be better at that but obviously my normal ships don't cut it.

I seem to operate alot better when given leeway to act independently. I still remember that in small-gangs, I usually operate as bait, and when I was in Eve University I usually operate as the fleet scout. Both roles allow some autonomy for the pilot.
