i see 2 really good fits and i cant decide which one would have the longest range.

Without looking at the fits, I'd say the ship with the range bonus would win.

Longest range? Naga, because Talos doesnt have any range bonus.
Tho optimal range isnt that great for blasters but you asked for it...

Blaster naga with 1 TE and null is 19+20km

Blaster talos with 2 TE and null is 15+26km

Tank goes for Naga

Yeah it's weird that the naga is a stronger blaster ship. I wish the talos had another mid then it'd could be a really good ship but it's kinda poor outside of 70-120km rail fits.

Server fail ate my post again....cliff notes:

In my runs so far, Naga has same dmg as Talos, AND can fit a relative tank while maintaining dmg, where Talos has to pick one or the other.

Talos sounds a better choice to me. Not only it looks better (I know, it's a matter of opinion), but it also has a drone-bay, which should offset the other minor differences between the Talos and the Naga.

Some time ago i posted a talos setup i was intended to try. have a look. Personally i prefer the talos over the naga because of the the tracking bonus + the drone bay.

Your Talos setup does not have tackle so I got to thinking if your gang has enough tackle to hold down your prey anyway then why not set up the Naga similar. You know that these things are pretty much perma primary because people assume there tank is paper thin.

62k EHP 930 DPS CNAM, almost 50% more then a Shield Cane. If you drop the second MFS for a PDU and fit 3 LSE II's you get closer to 70k EHP and 780 DPS.

Not relevant to your range requests but it makes the ship no longer a Glass Cannon and more like the Iron kind. Twisted

Both ships can get the same dps with the same number of damage mods (the extra lows on the Talos let you fit TEs to compensate for the Naga's range bonus).

The Naga has more HP.

The Talos can effectively hit cruisers in and out of web range, has drones to chase away frigates, and has the speed to get into blaster range.

I think the choice is pretty obvious.

This. Same reason you shield tank a Habinger, Brutix, Hurricane, etc, or pretty much anything that isn't flying in an armor RR gang.
