Petition to CONCORD

I would like to make a brief statement

This is a petition to have the Jove Empire's membership in CONCORD immediately suspended until a full investigation has been completed regarding their suspected collusion with Sansha's Nation and involvement in the creation of the Drifters.

If you support this, a simple like will suffice

Uh ... pilot?

Considering that the Drifters' appearance was kind of foreshadowed by a (Jove) empire-shattering kaboom ... assuming that the two are associated in ways that don't involve weapons of mass destruction on a previously unheard-of scale and therefore suspending them from CONCORD might be a little premature.

Also redundant. There might not be very much left of the Jove.

Unless-- is there news on this?

Not another damned petition.

Do these even achieve anything?

Interestingly, there are signatures in the shattered systems where you'll find the remains of Nation Revenants, destroyed Sleeper drones, and a damaged Sleeper Enclave.

You'll also find Sleeper drones in the Drifter Hive facilities, and Circadian Seekers flying alongside Drifter battleships in some cases.

It is perhaps more likely that the Drifters-- awoke? Returned? Were created? --as a means to fight the Sansha.

There's little evidence to suggest that Sansha awakened the Drifters, but it is clear that the Sansha found these signatures first, sent a task force to attempt acquisition of Drifter tech and were driven off.

Perhaps the Sansha were the ones who set the beacons which can be picked up by capsuleer scanner probes as an attempt to draw in capsuleers to fight the Drifters for the plunder and, perhaps, come in to pick the bones after the capsuleers left or just try to get whatever technology acquired through the market, if the plunder ends up on the market. This one is just speculation.

You'd be so much cuter if your typo had been at the end of the sentence, like this:

He left no one who may tell a tale about it because he hasn't actually killed anyone yet. And the tale never happened either.

A nice thought, but you'd probably have more success in petitioning the nearest moon to reverse its orbit.

The Jove are dead. And CONCORD doesn't care about petitions.

I would like to petition for a new forum for petitions.

Uh. Mr. Arkoth? This monster, if alive, might possibly notice a noisy pilot, but almost certainly won't bother to squish him.

Saying 'nanoblack nanoblack nanoblack' and dropping vague threats does not mean anything. All I'm seeing in your record is that you attack explorers once a month. What amazing thing did you do to make yourself look like an actual threat to be taken seriously?

Nothing.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.
