I just ordered a new computer and not sure it will run EVE.

Ordered a Corsair Hydro H110i GT HP 280mm Liquid CPU Cooler. I think that dood-dad-thingy will be okay and stop the Pee-Cee beeping all the time.
I might upgrade it to a carrier pigeon, though or smoke signals. P

Faster (SATA though) and larger drive in the old machine. This one is just to test out 64 bit operating systems before I upgrade that drive..

In this way?

Just a note:
If you look closely enough at the machine, I could have halved the cost of the box and paid 3x more for a graphic card(s), using the same budget, that would have made it a better gaming computer. This is closer to a server because of the job.

Bah. I use an abacus, a pencil and some paper, and type everything in with a telegraph key.

Where are your RNG dice?!

Edit: Another pr0n site that I used to organise a three some with my ex..
(Built her a triple boot hackintosh, two drives, one Windows, one Mac then use Linux in some partitions on the Windows drive to tie them all together is the easiest)

I have a video of me running 3 eve clients on a Celeron Laptop from 2 months ago.

I got about 5 frames per second, but i was able to ninja huff a whole C3 at work on a public holiday with it :)

Too bad the EVE launcher does not run that well on Linux, AFAIK.
I have a 8-year old computer which always had some problems with running EVE on Linux, but on W7 it's fine.

I know that EvE is compatible with WINE on Ubuntu if that is the linux of your choice.

OP, lemmie put it this way, i paid probably about half as much for my home built PC and it runs EvE at max graphics at 250 FPS, and this computer will probably be top end for the next 5 years....

I dont see an SSD being mentioned anywhere, so it will run the game but pretty poorly.

Probably go with a hybrid at a later point. Need a lot of storage more than I need speed.

We did it with two old machines.
It worked perfectly but we were constantly hungry. The hot oil smelled like potato chips being fried.

Legit jelly of the build though. I drastically need a new comp. This one is starting to show it's age and at the minimum, gotta do a full drives cleanup after an issue with an adobe update causing a windows update to bug.

Want to really test it out and see some wow? Log into Sisi, ensure everything is max and fit up a heavy active shield setup and have people pew pew yew.

Eyes will orgasm.

That said, if you are more industrial, I sometimes go on to sisi to test stuff, If you want to check out the visuals, I got caps and stuff I can fit up for you to pew at and give it some visual overdrive, fire missiles etc. Want to really push it, fit up a rocket launcher corax fit and rigged for rate of fire and shoot a shield capital.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

Nice. I will probably do a two screen wide shot at a later point when I do a camera offset.

The graphics card could be a lot better but this machine will last long term and is blistering through some algorithms at the moment.

If your dishing out enough cash to go for an i7, personally I would have gone with an SSD drive, as there's a significant difference in read/write times. If using it for more than EVE can always fit a second SATA drive for storage of ****. I assume it's a dedicated EVE PC specced with that hdd, I seems a little small these days due to how cheap drives .

Dual booting on hardware raid should be very little difference? Was quite a random question somewhere you mentioned on dual booting with raid.

Err, no. Faster hard drives only help when loading something. As the entire game is only a 300MB install and takes 700MB of RAM and 300MB of Video RAM, you won't be loading anything from the hard drive once you've logged in and undocked.

This thread is rediculous. Eve is 10 years old. It will run on an etcha-sketch and a mouse wheel.
