I been playing EVE for about two weeks now and been destroyed, capsule and all, by other players at least twice. minding my own business digging up ore and BAM...dead.

I recorded the names and alliances of those that attacked my character and wish to someday hunt them and others like them down. What is a good ship to start to train/save for in order to better my odds? Smile

The friendship.

Seriously, get some mates together and go belt them one.

If you don't have any mates you can pay mercs to do it for you.

Looking at your killboard, you were killed in lowsec. There, people can shoot you without concord intervention, although they take a standing hit. If you want to get into pvp, I suggest getting into a pvp corporation, asking for a newbie friendly frigate fit, load up 10 of them, venture into lowsec, and get them all blown up. Learn how to use d-scan, manage modules, what ships do what. There's a lot to know about pvp. How to move about semi safely, what ships are easy kills, what their strengths and weaknesses are, what your own ship is like. Pvp is a massive cumulation of facts, info, and experience. It takes a very long while- and isk, to learn.

There are ships better than others, but for the most part they are pretty balanced. Just don't try to punch above your weight, I.e. Taking on a pirate frigate in a merlin. You may want to cross train for more options once you get one races skills up high enough to be competitive.

On any pvp ship, if you're going solo, you'll need a scram or disrupt or to hold them down, an AB or MWD for range control, usually a web. You'll need a tank and guns of course. There's way to many little nuances about fitting to say them all here. You can always hit me up if you want some advice, but a pvp corp will probably help more.

This is a signature.

It has a 25m signature.

No it's not a cosmic signature.

Probably.

Btw my corp's recruiting.

Even though the Bob above is right, I am not sure how hard you can hit him.

All humor aside,
the ship of choice for Bounty Hunting is the Drake.
It is also the most used ship in game.

Standard Battlecruisers are good for solo Bounty Hunting.

However, Bounty Hunting or PvP can also be done in group although it tends to be called differently than Bounty Hunting in EVE Online.

Likewise.

I fully intend upon blopsing the fackles gobshites whenever I could be arsed training blackops and dropping the lossmail in local after.

Just FYI, EWAR is a great path for new pilots to try. It's a pretty quick train to be in a Maulus or a Vigil and you'll be a very welcome addition to any gang.

Hey it's now alright to unironically fly the drake.

BattleCruiser are fairly powerful and perhaps have less tank than a Battleship.
They are a bit faster and before the latest changes, couldn't Micro Jump .
I think they can also Micro Jump now.
They are slower than a Cruiser though.

Bounty hunting doesn't exist in this game, it's a myth.

OP, do make it a point to eventually get around to exploding their space ship at some future point -before- they genuinely quit, or get hit by a bus, or cease to exist.

If you really want to payback everyone that kills you in this game you gonna have a hard time...

Instead, you should try to analyze why you were killed and avoid mistakes next time.

Here's a potentially very quick way. Train Cyno skill, which takes matter of hours, and buy a procurer and fit it with a cyno. Find some guys who like black op drops around the low sec for fun, use your social skills to set something up with them. Go mine in the same belt you got killed, and when the same dudes show up, light the cyno and start the party.

The hardest part will be convincing the black op guys that you are not a trap. But if you can manage to get something worked out here you will open up a LOT of game play options that goes way beyond just mining & dreaming about getting a revenge.

I KNOW, because I had sh*t ton of bombers dropping on me, just because I tackled a wrong miner. The first time it happened to me like a few years ago it was so hilarious I actually LOL IRL, although I lost my faction fit T3. Funny thing is that it still works.

edit: spelling! @.@

do Black Ops work with a regular Cyno as well?
I am wondering if they only work with Covert Cyno only.

Until I got dropped through a regular cyno on a Procurer, I thought they only work with covert ops cyno too. Then I found out it works with regular cynos too lol. Since then, yes, I can confirm that black op jump portals can connect to regular cynos, cuz I've also been in fleets where we baited with regular ships & dropped through regular cynos.

I'll certainly look more into this, as I can't tell if what you say is true or false witout testing for myself.
Even some videos to prove it. (I will record it)

I think Black Ops can jump through regular cyno, but I doubt that they can jump bridge other covert ops ships to a regular cyno for the obvious reasons.

What we need is some covert ops fleet music.

You are welcome to try and find out for yourself, make a video and share with others. That's all good.

I can tell you right now though that Black Op can jump bridge covert fleets through regular cyno. I have been in such fleets many times in a stealth bomber and got jump bridged by a black op to a regular cyno lit by bait ships. If you must try this yourself before you believe I recommend you give it a go, as it's something quite fun. :)

Oh, I can believe it.
However, when it comes down to the actual bridge jump action and other details, I prefer to test it before.
Thanks for the info.
I was reviewing my videos which by the way show too small on my current 19 inch monitor, and I have about 10 or 20 videos on Black Ops jump bridge.
All of them were to Covert Cynos so far though.

Also, I have sound codec problems with Windows Media Player, and have to run the Freeware Trial version of Bandicam files in Irfan View to get the sound codec to work.
It makes a difference since I managed to record audio with both the game sound and my voice recording in audio.

As for Bounty Hunting...
Bounty Hunting is good to collect Bounties on players with over 1 billion Bounties on them.
I think the one with the most and highest Bounty has around a 100b ISK bounty on him or at least over 20b ISK.

NPCs also have bounties on them, and many are found in missions while others are found in anomalies.
I still have find and test the escalations though, which I believe are started from anomalies.
