You forgot that Vaari is a capsuleer and the Goons can't kill capsuleers permanently.

What the Goons can do is to deny Vaari the Providence real estate for a very, very long time.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

The CFC taking over Providence...? It sure sounds possible...

And at the same time Providence faced several invasions of the highest magnitude in the past (Triumvirate, BoB, among others), and did not fall.

It did however, against AAA, when the sovereignty tactics changed, and the leadership strategy failed.

It remains wild speculation to my eyes and certainly not a clear-cut result.
