Should capsuleers hide their beliefs?

I've awoxed people before, I've scammed people, I know why a capsuleer would do something like that... I pretended to be a transhumanist for a few months so I could infiltrate a transhumanist scum hive. I've put on an Angel jacket and hired an Angel lawyer so I could talk my way into the Angel scene.. I even joined the Minmatar rebellion so I could kill Amarrians and get paid for it! So yeah, I think I know a thing or two about hiding my beliefs...

But should this be necessary? Should you Amarrians pretend to be Sani Sabik or Caldari chief officers? Should a Sansha citizen have to pretend to have emotions? Maybe yes, maybe no. What do you think?

For now, I'm who I am. I'm just a woman from Hek V that found faith in red god... And I'm not hiding it!

The short answer is that both secrecy and openness have their advantages. Amongst the Sanist, one that practices the faith in secret can be a million times more effective in the Imperial Palace than one that broadcasts their faith on the IGS. However, someone that broadcasts blood rites on the Scope can serve as a rallying point. A leader cannot be hidden

Ms. Funk, I've always thought you're 999,999 monkeys short on your keyboard from giving us a masterpiece.

Nah,

Too much work.

All that cloak and dagger stuff? Why bother?

Maybe I'm not that good an actor, but I've always thought the direct approach is best.

If it depended on me, I'd silence you and whoever shares your sick creed of faith, and all those that support piracy and crime. The Blood Raiders continued public displays of depravity only continues to prove me right.

They enjoy taunting our inability to act against them in any meaningful manner. Thinning their numbers only seems to make them more determined.

Nope, its not as fun censoring yourself to hold up what you want to pretend you are as opposed to what you naturally are and in the end you'll most likely be fooling nobody and have to live with what you aren't but want to be: an artificial shell of a person.

Mademoiselle Funk,

We are Capsuleers, we are the immortal, we need not hide anything, though, at times some.. discretion and maturity is needed, where perhaps not telling someone everything is for the best, for example, you are one of the Sani-Sabik, bringing that up is fine, going on to explain your blood rituals or the tastes you have experienced I would say is to far, so while it is okay, to myself at least, to tell someone your beliefs, it is a different stance to force it onto them, or to explain and talk about what they wish not to hear, does that make sense? I have never been one that is very good with words..

In short, no, if you are a Sani-Sabik then you should say so proudly, they are your beliefs, and you are as entitled them as I am to mine, as are all of us, but you must expect some hostility, for example, you can't expect someone to be okay with your beliefs, but by not being okay with yours, they are in turn not hiding their beliefs, so no, we should not hide our beleifs as they are an important aspect of each of us, they determine, at least in a base stance, how will will act, react, how we will talk and think, they make apart of you, well.. You.

In summary, stand strong and steadfast with your beliefs, just be prepared for others to stand by theirs, I do apologies for the stream of text, I am still fairly recent from the Academy, and I believe the writing habits that gave me are still very strong in my mind.

Good luck with whatever you hoped to gain from this thread, as I believe I have not answered it for you.

Awoxing, scamming and lying is dishonorable.
This is why we should point out and shame people like Makoto Priano, who don't accept it like you, Ms. Funk.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this one hundred percentile. Makoto is one of the worst scamming, axoxing, lying cowards in New Eden! I know this not just from personal experience but from the thousands of lies she's posted here. We must all be vigilant against this treacherous coward until she come forth from the shadows of her scum lair and admits what she really is!

You know, coming from you, this actually ends up being a glowing review about her honor, integrity, and intelligence.....

I try to be open to my Clan and Circle, if having staff and crew working with me for the cause of monetary remuneration and crazy shite is enough to constitute a Circle.

Outside, I exercise 'Need to Know' policies. Is it something that is of mutual benefit? I speak of it then. Otherwise, they will need to actually ask about it and, if I deem the information to be not too sensitive to share, I share it.

This includes my beliefs btw.

There are some who are meant to hide, to skulk and conceal their natures.

That is not us.

Whether one is to champion the Empire, State, Nation, or the Sani Sabik causes, we should all walk our paths courageously and without remorse.

Secrecy regarding one's business dealings and partner discretion is of utmost importance, of course.

But this has nothing to do with one's principles, practices and reputation - those who find themselves involved in skewing those know where they can expect to find themselves in the New Eden's social strata.

Oh yes, that certainly fooled us.

I believe there's a Masquerade party somewhere this week; maybe try going as an Amarr loyalist this time, or the late Empress even.

I'm sure that at this point nobody questions the intelligence of the Cartel, Ser Caine.

It's state of nonexistance is pretty much confirmed.

Read the crime reports of every nation, study the symbiosis between the Serpentis and the Cartel, the Skarkon Incident, the reports of Sansha-Cartel hostilities and tell me they are morons.

Underestimating a would-be foe is a sure way to a disastrous defeat.

If you are asking me to respect my enemies, you will find me uncapable of even the simplest of courtesies. This includes you Ser Egivand.

My enemies will earn nothing but mockery from me. And I doubt you are intelligent enough to see the validity of this tactic.
