Well well well, another day, another dime! I am not very sure on how does this works, but I think that E:D NPCs only give you good stuff when youv'e been working for them recently. I've been two or three days without transporting passengers and today I got poor contracts on my first travel, then after fulfiling them I got some decent stuff but nothing too good. Certainly the cargo missions they're offering me are terrible stuff as I haven't run them regularly since Horizons 2.2... they're nitpicking dudes and easily forget all you did for them if you fail a single contract or, apparently, when you don't lick their ass every day. It's not enough to have a good standing, you need a good (recent) record AND knocking on their door continuously. Cool

Well well well, now I can say I've been to Pleiades! Or system Maia, at least. Explored all the way there but wanted to dock at my home port so I didn't explore anything on the way back. Some day will go back there to take some pictures, now that the way there has been explored and I can just leap through systems on the way out.

Nighties lovelies!

Also: how about cascading voltage amplificators from old TVs until (theoretically) reaching 1,000,000 volts? (It is uncertain whether they reach that tension. The most intense electrical phenomenon visible on the video are negative corona discharges, and once they happen, you're losing current like crazy -a negative corona discharge it's literally electrons exiting the conductor and scattering in the air- and that limits tension very effectively).

Heh, to be honest I dont remember another game with such a scope, and I am not talking about 4000 man battles or even 1000 man batlles, or even 500 man battles, I remember AoC sieges crashing with something like 3 raids, not full, in location of the battle. It was not even 140 people. Server said "nope" regularly in such accasions and the whole siege was reset with buildings intact and vulnerability window expired. That was dissapointing!

I say they are light years ahead of Funcom in that regard. They are like in another galaxy. But still not quite where they should be. Such is life. Lol

You know, there is a simple and elegant solution to massive N+1 battles, and it's called turn-based combat. It's not as cool as "real time" combat, but certainly is better than "10x slower than real yet can't even load my buttons time" combat in EVE.

Remember: for every stupid CCP does, there is a smarter more sensible alternative.

(Also, there never has been a battle in history where each of 4,000 people knew what the other 3,999 people were doing. Ending with this kind of problem in a online game is the sort of thing you'd expect from a bunch of crazy vikings who never before had made a videogame and struck gold with a extremely ambitious amateur MMO. LOS is not an extra burden on your server, it's the safeguard so your server isn't overwhelmed by tracking 4,000^2 bloody potential transactions per second... well, each ten seconds)

Hello LAGL,

Hope everyone is doing good. I posted a thread in GD thanking CCP for the Omega gifts. If you're an Omega Clone, please feel free to add your thanks as well.

The lag in M-O was pretty amusing, but the thing that annoyed me was defenders being launched 60AU away from the Keepstar. It threw away the home advantage a little. As it launched you through the bubbles so you had to travel through intense Tidi to a perch on the other side of the Keepstar.

Then back down. Really annoying.

But, dont you have this feeling when its taking so long? Pirate

Not exactly, you tend to have a very long time between every action. So the 60AU warp I mentioned to the perch took about 4-6minutes to complete. So you'd make the warp go afk, watch tv a bit, get a cuppa. Ect.

Then you'd go down back to the fleet, which would take probably 1-2minutes so you stay at the desk. You anchor and pre-activate your guns and lock up the secondary broadcast as you won't lock in time for the primary as you just landed.

Inbetween gun cycles you have forever so you just listen out for the FC if he says lock you come back to the PC pre-activate guns, lock go back to the TV. If you see some yellow box's hit your broadcast for reps button. Go back to the TV, if you see you have take 5% shield damage and no reps are active on you at this time.

Don't bother doing anything as you will load in a pod in a couple of minutes, wait for the smartbombs of the fleet to cycle to pod you so you can reship faster. Repeat.

It's not very engaging, or exciting tbh. No idea why randoms come into the system to join in.

Hehe, probably to later say "I was there".

I was thinking about it and came up with a thought that they should redesigh legacy code so it could run one system on multiple nodes, but taking the unused bandwight into consideration, redirecting some of the counting to more threads. But Its only my fantasy made up between watching you tube cat videos and listening to Calm.

Oh, they somewhat redesigned the beret.
