I wish you good luck and good fortune then! Smile

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Today I found many sites, no gold mines. But steady income all round and at least seven dodged gate camps while pottering about and nearly got scanned out once, but I'm a speedy ship and saw them on my directional scanner in time.

Nighty night, will continue this tomorrow.

Hello LAGL, hope everyone is doing good.

After going through all of my assets and selling / reprocessing all Tech 1 modules, I researched the amount of minerals needed to produce the parts required to build the Bowhead and realized I had maybe 1/5th of the amount needed.

The required amount of minerals I needed cost over 1 bill ISK so I decided to sell my 2x PLEX I've had sitting in the Redeem Queue for years (failsafe if my sub ran out unexpectedly).

The Market cost for a Bowhead hull on average is 1.5 bill ISK. The production cost for me to build it is 1.1 bill ISK.

Ugh

Guess the good side to all of this is I managed to clear out a lot of stuff that's been sitting in stations for years.

I find production costs of ships above batlecruiser as something prohibiting me from producing them. I tried to make some industry but I dont know how people can figure out how to make money out of it...

Well, if I was to sell it I'd make a profit. Granted it's not much but still a profit nonetheless.

I believe production of large ship hulls and structures is something more suited for Player Corporations. Having plenty of members working together makes it much easier to gather resources for large quantity production. I'm sure that alone creates more profit.

The only Mining ship I have is a Venture. Using that would take me forever to gather the required minerals. Even if I had the skills to pilot a Hulk or some other Mining ship it would still take a long time. A Player Corp can easily field a lot more ships to quickly gather materials.

Also I can only have 6 production jobs active at the same time so it's going to take a long time just to build the parts. Sure I can skill up to increase that amount but once again a Player Corp can easily produce much more than I can in a much shorter time period.

In my opinion small hull ships, modules, rigs, munitions, etc are more suited for solo players and small Player Corps. I jumped on this project because at the start of collecting up assets I thought I'd end up with more minerals than I actually did.

Anyway, this is definitely a learning experience.

I'd say it's all about the volume you can produce. Of course you'd better aiming ships that have good margins at the time but still.

And then you can do it the hard way: just did some number crushing on my own shop from the past +600 days and the average profit per day is something between 7 to 14 mil ISK, total sell value +87b ISK for 1390 ships Roll
Thank god for market trading Cool

I agree 100%, especially with the system cost index. Not to mention all the extra materials that were added to the BP's.

Ugh

But that's not the real reason. The reason profits are gone, is because EVERYBODY can build the stuff as same cost.

No, the cost isn't the same for everyone. Lot's of different aspects will affect the cost. Skill level, Blueprint Material Efficiency, availability of resources, production location, etc.

Since I don't have access to a POS, I have to use public NPC R&D services. According to the Facilities list, the lowest system cost index was 0.22% located 15 jumps away from my Base Of Operations in Rens system.
System Cost Index - As more items are produced in a specific system, the cost goes up.

Also the amount of Material Efficiency research done on a blueprint will reduce input costs resulting in more profit per unit.

Not to mention NPC stations add a 10% tax for production compared to manufacturing in your own POS.
