Mornings LAGLers. Yesterday I found that the bug with the Scope video at the CQ still is active... I had even thanked CCP for fixing it.

Based on the principle of "never what CCP says, rather what they do", it wouldn't be unthinkable if the removal of the CQ was a last-minute "surprise" for Citadel. Say, a devblog on the 20th with a vague promise to "come back" the feature as an addition to Citadels, someday. Maybe with a extra twist that would be available only in Citadels and not NPC stations.

I don't say it's very likely, but CCP has done similar things in the past (Evelopedia...) and probably CQ is a fringe feature now that WiSers are in a small minority.

As it is now, CQ is a mark of shame on the face of CCP, a constant reminder of a string of painful failures - Incarna, Dust, World of Darkness - that they'd rather just turn away from and forget as quickly as possible. Preferably while funneling money into another mobile VR project. I also think that there's a chance of CQ being quietly removed in one of the future updates - but probably not Citadel.

So, when this might happen? CCP is famous for just leaving all kinds of unfinished stuff to sit there as is for years. We still have COSMOS sites and missions, for example. The POSes are being phased out as a part of the greater plan to overhaul all structures, so CQ's end will probably coincide with the new overhaul of the character creator.

Since the previous character creator existed from 2003 to 2011, one can assume more or less the same time frame for the current avatar assets. So, CQ will be removed somewhere around 2019, perhaps as a part of unification of character assets between EVE and the new PC project that replaces Dust (formerly known as Legion.)

Something like that, I guess.

Its shame CQ isnt bigger and better. Not that it exists. I hope they realise that and dont disable it. But they have my blessing to upgrade or change it to something better. Pretending my blessings mean something. Lol

Well in my opinion once they think it's no longer worth the time and effort keep the CQ in proper working order and making sure that it does not break anything else with every patch they might axe it.

But they keep on adding more clothes and accessories from time to time so who really knows what they want to do, I bet that even CCP doesn't know what they want to do with the captain's quarters and WiS mess they made .
