Not too busy here, just waiting for the garage to call to let me know if the weird ass noise I was hearing was coming from the water pump or the alternator

Generally, if you have an issue with your alternator, you'd get a check engine light. Weird ass noise is probably water pump. Or belt. Or bearing failure on a pulley.

Well, bearing failure on an alternator could happen also...

Well yeah, initial estimate was either water pump or alternator bearing (just wasn't being super specific in first post)

Fan belt was already checked and have a chain rather than timing belt

Water pump failures also generally tend to give you a little coolant leak. Good luck that the repairs are cheapish!
