I don't see any issue here.

Characters in a game universe acted like characters in a game universe. As they should, and as it was stated they would in the devblogs and announcement threads. This is all I've got left to say to you.



As I said in my longer post above, loyalty counts for a whole lot, and CCP said as much from the outset, as did several of the Stewards for the more picky Heirs in their application threads. The selection of Captains was done by the characters of the Heirs. They were picked according to the guidelines that each Heir had their Steward outline, as well as the internal biases of each of the Heirs themselves. Some Heirs would be fine with having mercenaries and non-loyalists flying under their name. They'd consider that a good investment. And some would not, and they would prefer to load their options with people they know to be loyal to their cause. If you don't like it, you too can reference my link for AT1o1.

Furthermore, calling 12 years of constant, dedicated service from groups like PIE "being loyal in paper" is an incredibly insulting and ignorant thing to say. PIE, both as a corp and an alliance, are the definition of loyalist in word and in deed as far as New Eden is concerned.

I don't disagree with that at all. I think some people are just having trouble comprehending that the definition of "the best applications" wasn't necessarily being made on an out-of-character basis, and that it was being done in-character.

However we can't see if he aced this part, maybe that's what made the difference;

If you can't meet the requirements of the Heir, why do you think you should be chosen?

Why WOULDN'T PIE be picked a lot?
1. They are one of if not the oldest Amarr loyalist group which is RP points
2. more importantly, they do FW which lends itself to small gangs of small ships
3. equally as important, their SOP is to fly ONLY Amarr ships.

So people who specialize in Amarr Frigates are a natural choice for a tournament where you have to fly Amarr frigates.

Why would CVA even exist without PIE in it ? ;P
