What's the point of EVE Online?

For a moment I dreaded this was the T2 version of the "Point of Skyrim thread in OOPE", and was ready to begin dusting off my knowledge of paraphilias and begin constructing mental wireframes to form a coherent deployment of sexual neuroses and their representation in the virtual world of EVE.

So I opened this and left sadly dissapointed ...

Point of eve , meh :/ , for me would be seeing more Hi-Sec, Low Sec, Null , W space threads on people bashing themselves on the reasons why they like/dislike the guys on the other side of the fence and why they won't come/stay away from their fenced garden, while everyone totally misses the point from post #1 and on. That alone gives me hours of enjoyment.

That's my point for eve right now, what I do ingame is another matter and is more related to duty and obligations, so take it more than a point in the game as a matter of faith.

But carry on chaps, I enjoy these threads a lot, chaos ensues and I bask in it gladly.

There is no fun in EVE. Internet spaceships is serious business.

You, too, can be a Solid Gold dancer.

Question: How much isk is enough?

Answer: Just a little more.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

The game itself isn't all that much fun, in that it doesn't have a lot to entertain you. For me, the real fun of EVE is just flying around in space and thinking about what you might do one day given the time/opportunity/isk/skills/whatever. In short, EVE is more fun thinking about playing it than actually playing it. :)

The same point all MMO have : to do to other people things you can't do legally in RL like :
- destroying their possesions and laugh when they cry
- stealing
- cheating

Ishkurs are pointy.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Epic Raid Lewt Drops?

40 Man Boss Fights?

Gear Farming to qualify for more gear farming?

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.
