I created a 1-person corp for myself a long time ago in order to avoid the ~2% tax by belonging to one of the npc faction corps.

I was thinking about joining a null sec corp, but was wondering what would happen to my privately-owned corp? I assume I can't be a member of more than one corp, correct?

What are the mechanics of how the transition works - does a corp dissolve when it hits 0 members? Let's say the null-sec thing doesn't work out - are the requirements to start a 1-person corp back up in high-sec reasonably easy to meet?

You can't leave a 1-man corp without it closing it permanently. You can use one of your 2 alt character slots to make a new pilot who can hold it for you. Or if you don't care about the specific corp, the requirements are very low to open a new one later. All it costs is 1.6mil. No standings or anything required.

Corp has to have a CEO, so at least 1 character must be in it.

If you want to make your own corp and keep it while you move around, create an alt, train him Corporation Management so he can be CEO, have him create the corp you want as the CEO, and invite your main as just a member. Then promote your main to Director, so you don't have to keep logging in the CEO to change things in the corp. With this setup, your main can come and go as you please, and the corp will remain valid as long as the CEO alt keeps it.

EDIT: If your corp already exists, create an alt, train him the Corp Management skills, invite him to corp, then transfer the CEO position to him from your current character.

Excellent info.
