What would you do with forty thousand slaves?

I feel like, maybe, everyone has missed the point of this question. Or maybe, I'm misinterpreting it. I feel like this is more a question of, "if you had 40,000 units of manpower, what would you achieve with it?"

To which I would answer; I would take them all on a tour of a Quafe factory so that they would each get one of the free samples at the end, and then I could have those 40,000 free samples.

If we think of them as real people, and not as theoretical units of force, then this only becomes (or rather, has already become) a competition to see who is the most morally pious, or reprehensible. And that, is boring.

Using slaves as a manpower is prohibited in the State.
You can use only properly hired workers or soldiers if you have a military rank.

Ugh, fine, I change my answer.

I'd give them all a hug and a pat on the head, and then use my position as a capsuleer to enable them to have fulfilling lives. happy?

Is that acceptable to the echo chamber?

I actually find your alternate view on the question more interesting.

It's still hard to top the mass interpretive dance opera, but if I had 40,000 laborers I could do anything with, I think I would put them to work carving a beautiful marble citadel atop a mountain somewhere.

You're god-damn right it is !

For it is the best idea !

"In the beginning all things were as one.
God parted them and breathed life into his creation
Divided the parts and gave each its place
And unto each, bestowed purpose"
- The Scriptures, Book I 1:4

The opera opens, with everyone, EVERYONE, on the stage, in one big crowd. They are all motionless.

Then a figure, or figures, representing God, appears, with a dramatic electro-music fanfare, and the crowd starts to move.

Then the crowd parts, and each part begins doing a particular dance.

It'd be SPECTACULAR !

When's the debut gala?

I would take the entire group of 40,000 slaves and bring them here, to the summit.

No matter the state of literacy each came in, they would still improve the posting quality.

All the moral piousness aside, I quite liked the quafe answer.

Removing all the loaded reference to slaves, if I had 40.000 units of manpower I would put it to the use of creating a manufacturing complex within the warzone to both better supply the militia and generate wealth in those areas we hold in a stable situation. That, or work to churn out small fluffy toys of animals for Capsuleers to keep them company at night. I hear so called "plushies" can turn quite the profit.

Going back to the morally loaded question specificaly on slaves, the correct action for someone in my position would be to hand them over to the Ministry for proper processing.

If I have 40,000 personnel dropping on me out of the blue I will start a corporation and specialise in consumer products.

I fully support the population of a small city just producing plushies, and have a few design ideas i'd like to put forward. such a factory should probably exist on an ice planet to make best use of the heat generated by that many cuddles. also, the employees should all wear bright colors and curled shoes.

Is it blasphemy, within a Heretical context, for a Heretic to claim to be God? Do the Sabik have their own Inquisitors and Justiciars to burn the Heretical Heretic at the proverbial stake?

Or is the act of Heresy itself a point of no return such that sacrilege is the accepted paradigm?

I would guess that would depend upon the theological sect one belongs to.
