TD or Dual Prop

I have a dual prop PVP frig fit that I really like and I have been pretty successful with. When I don't do well with it it seems that the MWD does not come into play. So I am considering swapping it for a TD.

I would like some opinions between dual prop or AB/TD fit.

I should note that when I lose a fight it is normally due to being webbed and scammed and either being kited or losing the race through tank by a slight margin. In most cases the MWD is not useful.

AB/TD works great for engaging stuff but the MWD can really save your skin if you need to get away from a fight.
So fight all in or have a way to get out? Your choice =)

I typically fight all in. Additionally, since I fight well within scram range the MWD is going to be shut down.

The MWD really only helps when I am trying to engage quickly or when I am far enough out and need to gain some big distance fast.

Or crash through bubbles but im guessing you arent living in null.
Tbh most peope not flying frigates dont fit scrams but disruptors so your mwd should work fine in most cases.

Regardless of whether it's shut down, you shouldn't be using it in scram range over an AB anyway.

I like the AB/TD Ishkur, but the trouble is it's slow, so fitting blasters on it is a very dangerous game indeed. One of my favourite frigs to solo in is either a dual prop malediction or a jag. I don't fit TD's to those as they're quick and the sig radii are so small.

This one time, I like, totally did some stuff.

It would be a lot easier to advise if you gave an indication of ship / fit you fly and what your engagements are typically.

You might want a web before you bother with a TD.

MWD fits and AB fits are very different, almost opposites.

Generally this is choice between mobility, ability to catch, ability to force your opponent to start pvp and superiority in scram range.

This is matter of taste.

Depends what you fight, your ship, tactics and how you fly

After some additional reasearch (and thanks, your comments), I think that a web would work better (if I change at all).

The dual prop, typically, provides more versitility for how I fight.

To answer your question on ship and fit - typically Rifter, Wolf, sometimes Jag Vengeance. Fit, beyond mid's is not relevant. I fight in scram range 95-100% of the time.

In the cases I was referring to I need to do some additional testing. The web would allow me more range control which in the situation at hand would have provided me the mobility and control I did not have. It takes away my ability to get in to a long range kiter quickly, but the AB would provide me the ability to pull range and get out within scram range.

I am having trouble with well fit, well flown ships that can keep me at 7500 meters. Right now, if I am scrammed and webbed and running dual prop/scram, I cant pull range or switch to long range ammo before I run out of tank.

There is alwasy a counter, of course. The MWD/Web trade off, in a fast DPS ship, is a tough one. I typically have great luck with dual prop ships, just recently I have run up against a few that can keep me in their sweet spot and I am screwed.

Thanks for the input.

I used to fly around in a rail-Comet looking for AB-only frigs. Got some stuff but it's a dicey game. I guess you open yourself up to that kind of kiting if you go for AB-only and get engaged out of web/scram.
