Question about POS labs and alliances

1. All bpo research/copy jobs require the bpo to be at the lab now right? So no more safe research?

2. Can different corps in the same alliance still use one another's labs?

3. is there any way to get bpos out of a lab if the pos is reinforced? What about post reinforcement?

4. What about production pos mods such as assembly arrays?

I was going to respond with a 'let me google that for you'-link but having checked google quickly it didn't actually offer any proper responses, which actually surprised me. So instead, I'm going to answer these questions so future googling people can see the responses. (hai future me)

1.
All BPOs must reside in the actual POS structure doing the work, so no, you can no longer safely research your BPOs.

2.
Different corps in an alliance can still use one another's labs, yes, but it's a major pain in the butt because the different corps can **** with each others research, cancel the jobs everyone else is running etc. So the loss of security from doing it is definitely not worth the small amount you save in fuel cost if you ask me.

3.
When a POS enters reinforcement, ALL structures requiring CPU goes offline. This includes (amongst others) all labs and production facilities. Since you can't take items out of an offline structure, there's no way to save your BPOs while the tower is reinforced. You will have to get the shields back up to 50% before you can online a structure that requires CPU again. So you can't instantly take out the BPOs once the tower exits reinforcement either, unless you have a logi fleet ready and repair the shields back up. Once the shields are above 50%, you can freely online and empty your labs and production facilities again.

4.
Behaves exactly like labs because they require CPU.

No, not any longer.

It used to be possible, when you could research without the BPO needing to be in the lab and hence other corps in the alliance could use the POS for jobs which required no materials.

Since that change, all materials and the blueprint need to be in the corp hangers in the appropriate array, and since other corps in the alliance won't have access to the corp hangers, they can't do any research.

It hasn't been possible to cancel someone else's job for some time now. Only the person starting the job and a director can cancel a job.

What if there is a personal hangar array? Not sure if alliance members can even access a personal hangar array, but if they can, can you start jobs from that?

Don't have a tower to test on, but I believe no. The BPO and mats must be in a hanger of the lab/array being used for the research/manufacturing.
