Can You Perform Research on a Blue Print you can't use?

Wondering if I should buy it now or wait until I have the skill trained. The Blue Print needs a level 5 skill to build. It would be great if I could research and learn the skill at the same time. But if I have to wait then I have to wait.

Maybe.
Blueprints have different skills required to research than to manufactuer. Right click on it in the market -> use in industry. Change to the type of research you want to do on it and check the skill requirements
