I must admit to keeping one of my alt slots free for the sole purpose of mucking around with the character creator; this one took 30 minutes to create and then another 60 minutes playing around until I got the "WTF did I just see?" expression right.

Well I'll see your "WTF did I just see?" expression and raise you a "go ahead, make my day" expression.

OP portrait expression looks a little curious Question

I'm in it for the money

But OP, how can you settle for this character you're using? I mean, there are like three hairs completely out of place!

Her hair is ok, but she's got her body facing one way and her head turned the other way, with no eye movement. Typically if you're walking to the left and looking to the right, you'd turn your head a little bit, and turn your eyes more, because eyes are easier to move than the head. Portrait looks artificial because of that.

I've been known to delete characters in "that MMO which shall not be named" JUST because I didn't like the hair colour after all.... at lvl 40.

I don't mess around with it at all since I don't care much about how my characters look but I'm pretty sure that you can redo your portrait at any point and as often as you want.

I also am under the impression that you can change things like hair and makeup as often as you like as well. I think that the only stuff that you are stuck with is things like skin color and all the basic body and facial feature setup. Essentially things that could not be changed IRL without surgery.

Maybe someone who knows more about this or has at least tried it can correct or expand on this.

Yes, you can redo your portrait at any time by clicking the Character Customization button in the station services at any station.

If you have a full body re-customization available, the game will ask you, do you want to do full body or just the face, so click No for just the face. The full body allows you to change your weight and skin color, and there's only one full body re-do available at character creation, with more available if you buy from the NEX store or in-game market.

You can redo your face (which includes picking different clothing, actually, as well as changing your pose, expression, background, lighting, and makeup) as many times as you want.

If you make a change, your portrait will change in-game immediately, but the forum portrait may take a couple days to be updated. The forums refresh their portrait databases every few days or so.
