It's a fleet ship and a damn good one at that.

Think about having like 8 of them with logi and boost and itl start to make sense.

I flew one around solo years ago. Then a rifter survived the volleys, got under my guns and gave me plenty of time to think about the error of solo zealot... Cry

I haven't seen too many in space lately but I do remember when zealot fleets were a mainstay of many alliance doctrines.

Maybe as doctrine ships with solid tanks and decent projection, but even then the DPS on a Zealot is anemic. In solo/small gang the Zealot is completely useless and outclassed by the Omen Navy.

It needs looking at IMO, find it a new niche of some kind.

Did you know that hear in America ( 'MURICA! ) school teachers will actually correct your spelling if you attempt to spell such foreign words as honour , colour and perhaps even armour? So what I'm really trying to say is; it's not my fault. Lol

Drunk grammar be best grammar yo. I'm not entirely sure what you're getting on about honour and colour though.

An I know you weren't teasing about my spelling. I just saw the word "armour" and thought I'd chime in with my shiptoast. Lol

They were outclassed by the kiting ishtar fleet and the tengu fleet... The damage projection is good, but not good enough to outshoot specialized kiting fleets. When the meta was more brawly, it was a solid ship for it's smaller sig against battleship guns.

I lost my first Zealot about 10 minutes after I fit it up :( Flew 2 jumps, took on a fight in a belt, couldn't get up to speed because belt rocks....

I also had one of my funnest fights in a Zealot: Out in open space, kiting, burning in, burning away, over heating everything, get a kill then burn back out. Great fight, and it was one of the learning fights where I started to master kiting.

No reason to use a zealot in small gangs over the nomen. Nomen is fast, has a drone bay which means u can actually solo in it. Zealot really needs another mid for a web, or a small drone bay.

One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Or another 9 or so fleetmates, it's not a small gang ship.

That's the thing though, it's no longer a fleet ship either. Zealot fleets are old school counters to BS fleets that couldn't track them when they were up close. Nowadays there are so many better options for heavy tanked small sig cruisers that the Zealot has fallen by the wayside. Sure you might see one here and there but it's suboptimal in any role you put it in IMO.
